4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDay 3 at Jordan High school and I remember why we left public school before. He was told by the counselor to go to the counselor office by Friday to fix his schedule. First period coach won’t let him go that he should go during another class…. so the coach wants my child to leave a core class like math to go fix his schedule instead of leaving PE. Then once we get to the school because I go in person because he’s not missing his lunch *again* and going the whole day without eating because they insist on kids trading their lunch for fixing administrative issues. The counselor is darling. She helped us but then we had to go to the media center and we talked to very nasty and said he has to come at lunch to fix his login account even though I was very positive and kind I explained he’s not missing lunch again to fix it and she said he can come after he eats, but in a very fatty tone for what reason I’m not sure other than I guess The first of the year stress but no need to take it out on me. Then upon leaving, I asked the office to give my son an excused tardy because he was handling school issues and should not be counted tardy, and the administration looked at me like I had two heads and Active, as though he should have a tardy which I argued he should not. Then they said the counselor should’ve given him a excused tardy and I said she didn’t so we need one and the administrative personnel argued with me about why he was denied the ability to go when the counselor told him to go and instead said I should have emailed which I had no email and I said it doesn’t make sense for me to email if my child is having a face-to-face conversation with his teacher and has proof of the email. Why should I go behind all of that and also email for him to have permission to go to a counselor‘s office that may take days to respond and back and forth when he literally has proof of the email and a direct conversation with his teacher should have been enough. I’m glad my son is making friends because if it wasn’t for that, we’d be unenrolled TODAY.Parent Review8mo ago25 Reviews - Sherwood Githens Middle

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSince coming to Creekside, I have not needed to look any further to be satisfied with my work environment. Teachers work together to facilitate the best learning experiances possible and support students needs and abilities. The administration is personally and professionally supportive as well. Creekside serves a very diverse body of students and is very sensitive and supportive to cultural differnces and needs. It's easy to go to work when you love what you do! Creekside offers a positive environment where I feel valued. It makes a big difference in both daily interactions and in the long term vision for your work.Teacher Review8mo ago19 Reviews - Check out schools near 1012 Zelkova Ln #UIY592.

"There are dog stations all over the neighborhood for bags and disposal; plus many neighbors leave fresh water bowls outside for pets. "

"There is tons of traffic during normal rush hours. Then during off hours it’s just generally busy. Many of the roadways are too narrow for the amount of cars utilizing them. "

"The Chapel-Hill Carrboro school district is one of the best in the state of North Carolina. Most of the older established neighborhoods are in close proximity to amenities and freeway access."

The city of Chapel Hill workers are competent, efficient and take pride in their work. Lots of our roads have recently been repaved."

"Your days will be less difficult if you’re at all able to avoid the rush hour windows of 6:30-9:30am, lunch hours, and 3-7pm. The congestion is ridiculously thick, and at this point of heavy convergence: Fordham/15-501, Hwy 54E&W/Raleigh Rd, and an on/off ramp for I-40 less than 2 miles away, the roads are absolutely overwhelming now. Do expect traffic to quadruple (at the VERY least) as soon as just a handful of new developments reach completion. UGH!!"

"I nanny in the area, my two kids have lots of playdates and my neighbors are pretty awesome. The area is residential, no college students really, and a short 20-30 min walk to whole foods, traders Joe's or Harris teeter. There's also University Mall, and a movie theater so lots to do on a pretty day. I've lived in this area for 12 years. Raising a family here and I love it."

"They would fit right in with all the other dog owners. I’m not one though. Some yards need fences. Dogs are a lot of work, and sometimes your friends won’t want them coming along for dinner as part of the social contract. In short, I don’t want a dog, but lots of others around here do."
