Today was my daughter's first day at this school. She transferred from Lufkin rd middle in Apex. I really wish she could have stayed there. So we walked in the office and was not acknowledged. I stood at the counter while 3 women were on the computer trying to figure something out. After 5 mins of me standing there, one of them finally asked me how can they help me. They didnt seem friendly at all. My child and I didn't feel welcomed. In all we waited around 30 mins just to get her schedule printed out. And when thd receptionist finally gave us the schedule she addressed my daughter as a boy!!!! I found that very disrespectful. They were very unorganized and not on one accord. The faculty was literally all over the place. Everyone waiting was very frustrated. But moving along...Lets talk about the appearance of the school. The grass wasn't cut, there are dead flowers in the flower pots, vines growing up the walls of the buildings, and bushes that need trimming very badly. There was a teacher outside pulling weeds from a flower pot as we walked by, leaving dry dirt all over the ground. I did not want to leave my baby at this school. She cried as she was walking away to go to class. I really thought this school was going to be decent. I shouldve read the reviews. I didn't see any kids happy or smiling. They all seemed aggravated. I will definitely look into getting my daughter transferred ASAP!!!!

As a parent, I normally don’t leave reviews, but I honestly feel obligated to speak up about my daughter’s experience at this school. While the older lady in the front office has always been kind, professional, and helpful, unfortunately I cannot say the same about the younger front office staff member. Her attitude and the way concerns are handled have been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.On top of that, my daughter’s experience with her teacher has also been stressful and frustrating throughout the school year. Communication has been poor, concerns have felt dismissed, and overall this has not been the supportive learning environment I expected for my child. The school also tests at one of the lowest levels in Wake County, which is very concerning as a parent looking for a strong academic environment for their child.No parent should feel uncomfortable every time they send their child to school, but sadly that has been our experience. I encourage parents considering this school to ask questions, pay attention to staff behavior, and truly advocate for their children.

My experience at Wakefield High School was terrible, teachers don’t care about anything but their paycheck.
