10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible. West Ada runs the schools like prisons. Parents are shut out and teachers have terrible attitudes. I have empathy for the staff as the wages are low but that does not excuse their horrible job performance and lack of responsibility. Unsafe conditions, poor quality education, horrible staff attitudes towards parents and students make up a joke of a school.Other Review1y ago16 Reviews - Eagle Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was not as good as I though, I went there 6th grade, so basically- there are aggressive people there, I didn't get as much good friends, or even REAL friends, the education was fine though. And 7th semester was BAD. It gave me really hard times through friends and the teachers and all of the learning is fine... but they don't really teach as well. Bullies, rude people, inappropriate things, are just not ok. I would not recommed.Other Review1y ago14 Reviews - Star Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe preschool program was amazing! We had no issues at all. The issues we ran into was kindergarten. The lack of communication from the staff. They also lack helping the kids when needed. Kids fall behind. We left this school and the district and found out how far behind our kid is. He learned almost nothing he should have in kindergarten. We never were informed about how our child was doing. They only do parent teacher conferences in the fall to tell you where your kid is at the start of the year. There was no updates or parent teacher conferences in the spring to give an update on progress. The school has bullying that the staff doesn’t take care of. The bullying even comes from other parents.Parent Review1y ago19 Reviews - Chaparral Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA deeply disappointing experience at Chaparral Elementary SY 2023-2024.I truly regret not withdrawing my son from this school sooner. He previously attended A Step Ahead Preschool, where he thrived—he was excited to go every day and approached learning with enthusiasm and confidence. Unfortunately, that all changed after enrolling at Chaparral. From the start, we noticed a significant decline in his enthusiasm for school. He became withdrawn and less confident when faced with new learning tasks. The most distressing incident, however, was when my wife picked him up from school and discovered he had been left in soiled clothing after an accident. Our son had peed his pants—a first for him, ever—and despite asking his teacher for a change of clothes, he was left in the same state for the rest of the school day. This level of neglect is inexcusable. When we raised the issue with the principal, she acknowledged that the situation was unacceptable and called it a "red flag." We then arranged a meeting with her and the teacher, but the meeting itself only further highlighted the school's lack of professionalism. The teacher arrived late, and we were told we had only 15 minutes to speak. Rather than addressing our concerns, the conversation was steered toward complaints about our child. They completely disregarded the fact that, just the day before, we had to pick him up early after the school nurse informed us he had been injured when another child picked him up and dropped him—resulting in him hitting his head on the floor. The leadership at this school is seriously lacking. The principal does not appear to be a neutral, empathetic, or effective advocate for students or their families. While I want to believe that there are good teachers at Chaparral, the one assigned to our son showed a troubling lack of care and basic responsibility.I hope our experience serves as a cautionary tale for other parents. We want our children to feel safe, supported, and seen—and sadly, Chaparral failed on all counts.Parent Review9mo ago17 Reviews - STAR MIDDLE SCHOOL

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went to Star Middle for 6 - 8th grade and we could not have had a better experience. The teachers and staff were informed, responsive, and communicative. And when any issues did arise (as they no doubt will with middle schoolers), the Star Middle team was engaged and proactive. We had heard good things about Star Middle which is part of what brought us to Star, and our experience was all we could have hoped for in a middle school. 10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI transitioned here in the middle of my freshman year and continued going until I switched the summer going into my senior year, it was pretty good. I had good teachers and met some cool people here, the only complaints I have are that there was a mice infestation in the school which is a huge health hazard and the new administration that came in my junior year kinda sucked.Other Review1mo ago1 Reviews - PLEASANT VIEW ELEMENTARY

"The commute was fine 20-30 years ago. Now it's congested, there are terrible drivers who speed down my street and once a week we get cut off by people passing us on the right as we try to make a right turn into our property. "

"There’s a dog park not too far that does have water for dogs not a bring your own kind of thing. The dog owners around here are super nice as well and keep the park maintained as well as help keep the park poop free. Most dogs are on leash so you’re good there as well. "
