The Westfield High School administration’s failure to manage the learning environment responsibly poses a serious threat to student safety. This statement is a warning to parents about the inability of WHS and district leadership to protect students or properly supervise their own staff.Our concerns began when our daughter reported being assaulted on campus by a senior student who had also threatened to stab classmates and had been following and assaulting other students off campus. When she informed her guidance counselor in October, it took two days for any action to be taken. An internal email titled “girl drama” downplayed the situation and was sent to an administrator responsible for student safety. Despite clear indications of criminal behavior and ongoing threats, no parents of the involved or threatened students were notified.Because of this administrative inaction, the same student continued to intimidate and assault others both on and off campus. After our daughter was battered a second time, I demanded to know what measures had been taken to protect her. We discovered the administration had done nothing and had ignored its own disciplinary policies for students involved in multiple altercations.When we met with WHS leadership, they claimed nothing could have been done to prevent further attacks. Dissatisfied, we escalated the matter to district officials, who—though polite—ultimately acted as apologists, dismissing the school’s inaction as “dropping the ball.” Three months after requesting the original incident report, we still have not received it. WHS and district officials have closed ranks, failed to provide documentation, and now communicate with us solely through their attorney—despite our efforts to resolve the matter without litigation.The failure of WHS and district administration to protect students, enforce policy, and inform families about credible threats is unacceptable.Parents, take warning: WHS cannot be trusted to respond appropriately to safety concerns. Only classroom teachers—whose working conditions shape our children's learning environment—can be relied on to prioritize student well-being. In contrast, administrators are more invested in concealing disciplinary failures to protect their individual careerist interests, rather than safeguarding our children.

The communication with parents is top-notch, and we always feel informed and involved in our child's progress.Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with our choice of kindergarten. It’s clear that the teachers and staff at monon trail are dedicated to providing a safe, encouraging, and enriching learning experience. I’m excited to see how my son continues to grow and thrive here
