About this House

The Clayton is single floor living at its best, starting from the welcoming front porches of the Craftsman and Low Country styles to the classic stone entry of the French Country look. Inside, just off the foyer, there is a flex room that can be anything, from a study to a formal dining room, a studio to a playroom. The adjacent cafe is ideal for meals and entertaining, while the family room has an optional fireplace. The patio, may become a covered or screened porch, and can extend for more living or entertaining space. Our exclusive optional messy kitchen has room for an extra sink and a window, along with a power pantry. (If you choose the messy kitchen, the flex room becomes a pocket office.) The ideal Owners Entry is just off the garage, and the optional pet washing station can be located in the garage. The owner's suite has many options: a sitting room, home office or home gym, an extended walk-in closet, a tub and separate shower, or a spa-like "super shower". Community Description

Ballard Woods is a community of new homes in Fuquay-Varina, NC, located at the corner of Ballard Road and US-401 in Harnett County. New Home Inc. is building twenty new homesites here, averaging about a half acre each, within the established Ballard Woods neighborhood. That means new construction in a setting that already grew in. The canopy is mature, the streets are settled, the landscaping has filled in, and the community pool and clubhouse are already in place. Buyers usually choose between a new house on raw ground or an older house under grown trees. Here you get both. Homes are New Home Inc.'s Signature Series, ranging from 1,800 to more than 3,200 square feet, with flexible layouts that include options for flex spaces, pocket offices, and first-floor bedrooms. Every New Home Inc. home is certified through Eco Select Energy and rated on the HERS Index by an independent energy rater. A home built to code scores 100. New Home Inc. homes average a HERS score of 66, roughly a third less energy than a code-built home, verified by third-party testing on the envelope and duct system before you get the keys. That means a house that holds its temperature and a power bill that does not swing every time the weather does. Commuting is straightforward. NCDOT completed Phase 1 of the Complete 540 project in 2024, extending the Triangle Expressway and adding an interchange at US-401. Ballard Woods sits on US-401, so reaching the expressway means heading north on the same road you live on. Downtown Raleigh and Research Triangle Park are both about forty-five minutes. Downtown Fuquay-Varina is thirteen minutes north, with restaurants, breweries, and Mineral Spring Park. Downtown Angier is thirteen minutes east and the Cape Fear River is ten minutes south. Schools are LaFayette Elementary, Harnett Central Middle, and Harnett Central High, all part of Harnett County Schools. Contact New Home Inc. to schedule a visit and walk the homesites.

  • Anthony Linde
"I commute just a few minutes down the road and have no issues. I am lucky enough to not have to drive through 55, 401, or any other high traffic area. "
  • Elizabethkowal
"It would be nice to have dog parks for dog socialization. It would also like to see walking trails to walk my dog safely."
  • Mail2jerrin
"It’s a nice place to live. We just moved here. Exploring the neighborhood and finding new things to do."
  • Mendezangelica951
"This is a quiet community and friendly. I really enjoy the area and how peaceful it is. I definitely recommend "
  • Rebekah J.
"There is nothing special about Fuquay, I only lived there for a year before being about to move to Holly Springs."
  • Elizabethkowal
"I work from home so I don’t have to commute to work. However, my daughter goes to a private school so commuting to her school is challenging"
  • Haley Wade
"Location. Close to the main road to have nice things within walking distance, but far enough away to be quiet. "
  • Trulia User
"There are a lot of off leash dog walkers in the area (most dogs are well trained but still) and nobody picks up poop. "
  • Bekahjaeger
"Plenty of dogs but lots of no poop signs. People are generally friendly towards dogs here. There is a small path behind our neighborhood good for walking."
  • Kevammy
"This is a very safe area that was ranked as one of the safest cities in America. There are plenty of nice parks for walking or riding. Easy commutes to RTP, shopping or downtown Raleigh. Many conveniences nearby for anything you need. The schools are very good. Most importantly I feel the curb appeal is far above average, neighborhoods are kept up and people are friendly. We’ve lived in 7 states and two countries and chose this area for our retirement! Housing is still fairly affordable but rising fast! "
  • Williamsonfelisha8
"just a really nice place to be and there is a website that tells all of the events . you would really enjoy it here"
  • Theresachuman
"Ok. busy morning and afternoons. I take 42 to Sanford and its not too bad. us 1 is a little bit of a distance to work "
  • Jtn1711
"Wonderful town with a quaint feel. Very nice people. Growing quickly and getting very busy with businesses and traffic. "
  • amybe
"Our neighborhood loves our dogs and their owners too! Dog owners would like the way drivers are slow & show respect for dog owners, as they move to the other side of the road."
  • Amybe67
"Our neighborhood is unique because we freely offer a sense of community to every resident. We are a career military (retired) family and have lived overseas and in numerous states over the past 35 years, many of them being lovely areas. We have never lived in a friendlier, more well-kept, safer, more respectful neighborhood."
  • Amybe67
"Trick or Treating, Court pot lucks, Sense of community through get togethers, Christmas parties, lots of dog walking invitations "
  • Amy C.
"I drive roughly twenty five minutes on back roads for me while my husband drives further at thirty five minutes."
  • Cassandra S.
