School system has been phenomenal. Extremely supportive and accommodating

I was a student here. Graduated from highschool in 2006. I am sure than many teachers who were there then probably are not any longer. I honestly would still assume that some things have not changed, and the main one is compassion. Yes, the kids need to know that life can be hard. They also need to know that they will have someone there who will help them along the way. Frankly, I was terrified to ask for help most of the time. There was not enough time between classes then, so I was late to one in particular. I ended up carrying most of my books all day in my backpack. Guess who's back is completely destroyed because of it. Wouldn't you think some teachers or staff would make a change so less kids have back pain when they are 12? Just a thought. No place is perfect, but show the kids that they matter, while still being a little tough on them. Show them that you care! Not that they need to be afraid of the staff. It felt like a prison. I clearly remember the principal telling us not to run, because she ran faster than us. Using scare tactics just is not the correct way to do things. Just my two cents.

Children receive outstanding support and academic instruction in the Southern Lehigh School District. The staff genuinely care about their students and consistently go the extra mile to ensure every child is treated with respect and compassion. This school district is the reason I moved to the area! May the school district receive outstanding amounts of support from Pennsylvania state for the phenomenal job they do with the state’s future generations!
