"Dogs on leash and other pets are very welcome. Also recently there have been several dog parks popping up in the neighborhoods which are not only fun for our best friends, but give their owners an opportunity to sit and rest after a busy day and chat with their neighbors if they wish."

  • Pjlrogers
"Depends on whether your going to work or shopping and what time of day it is. The work commute can be hairy so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there without taking unnecessary risks. Drive safely, you still have a lot of living to do! Hiram is what I call a “rural suburb” of Atlanta. So even though there are a lot of varied and extensive activities to enjoy in the surrounding area, it is a very short drive to many cultural and art exhibits, theatre productions and family entertainment parks like “Six Flags Over Georgia”. There is no lack of cultural, educational and yes “fun” opportunities in this area. So your commute to work could as long as 1 hour from Hiram to downtown Atlanta, or as short as 10 minutes if your lucky enough to work for the Wellstar Family Medical Practices or Facilities (for example). "The neighborhood is friendly. Some folks walk dogs, and some have their children with them. However, parents should accompany them on walks and to the parks at least until they have met a few people and learned the lay of the land. "
