John Frusciante Lists His Venice Canals Home For $2.9M

We wish he’d “Give it Away,” but that would be unlikely. John Frusciante, the former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist and successful solo artist, just listed his two-bed, three-bath Venice Canals home for $2.9 million. He’s owned the property since 2009, back when he purchased it for $1.89 million, so a sale at the asking price would mean a pretty sweet slice of cash for the musician.

Facing south on Linnie Canal, the stunning light-filled cottage is known as Casa Di Gennaio. Built in the mid 1920’s, the bungalow-style home is a classic taste of Venice‘s rich architectural history. With exposed-beam ceilings, multiple sun porches, and an open floor plan, the welcoming home is perfect for entertaining friends and family. A huge built-in bay window with plenty of seating streams in light overlooking the canal. In the kitchen, stainless steel appliances and a walk-in pantry sit next to a wine fridge, while a dining area provides a great spot for gathering with guests. On the second level, the sun-drenched master retreat has a cozy reading nook and wood-burning fireplace, which leads out to a private balcony. A spacious second bedroom has a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom. Case Di Gennaio is within walking distance to all of Venice’s unique attractions, like the sparkling beach and boat-filled marina.

Frusciante isn’t the only Chili Peppers member with excellent taste in real estate. Lead singer Anthony Kiedis used to own a beautiful Spanish villa in the Hollywood Hills, while their drummer, Chad Smith, lived just a 6 minute drive from Frusciante in Venice.
