"little leagues baseball games, summer Zumba dance for all at Bowland Park . Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa town lighting is beautiful to see how different culturesand believes come together as on on this holidays . the restaurants and bakery 👌 😋 the food trucks are delish in flavor, all the arts and clothing stores make Haverstraw an exceptional place to live. the North Rockland School District is one of the best in the county."
  • Rachel G.
"I drive now and the roads are super bumpy, they have potholes. When I used to ride the bus, the commute was okay but the scheduling can use some work. "
  • Rachel G.
"There’s a nice park in Haverstraw where you can take your dog to play. There’s also a PetValu no more than 3 miles away. "
  • Jaguarionex
"Taxes are too high! no bang for the bucks, spent on taxes... Wheres all the money going? Crime spiked In the last 3 mo. Small group of investors driving the home market. Same group of investors turning beautiful homes into apartment complexes, changing the small home town feeling into a overpopulated run down jobless town. This ofcourse this has fuled the rodents, ferral cats, lice and bed bugs issue as well. Again,no to forget to mention the rise in crime. The village offers no incentives for small business, creating a town of only barbershops and beauty salons... ((Boring)) Basically poorly managed village, and town. Harbors, are gated and is a town within the town, surrounding community does not benefit from this development. The Haverstraw ferry operating times are limited. oh did I say the tax assessment office needs to be revamped, fixed, and taxes need to be drastically reduced. "
  • Nakisha
"This is not a walkable community. Public transportation is not reliable. The Downtown Haverstraw area is cute and has culture but it still needs work to make it safer and more appealing. "
  • Jason F.

Fantastic outdoor pools, neighborhood cafe, private movie theater, social hall, recreational room, amazing gym with multiple machines and tvs, dry cleaning service, snow removal, living easy with amazing river views of the widest section of the Hudson R. Easy connection to NYC via ferry to Metro North train, or bus. Gardening done for you, beautiful each season!"

"An old town past it's prime. Very few activities, restaurants, shopping. Virtually no activities for children except for school sports. Demographic population is primarily Hispanic. High School Taxes and Utilites due to declining number of businesses. Many older houses converted to rental apartments."
