What Locals Say about Valinda

  • Richard Santos
"Great place, but late at night might not be too safe. The streets are too dark. But overall I have lived here many years and no issues."
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived here for about 3 years and so far my neighborhood is safe, my neighbors are friendly and welcoming and look out for one another "
  • Samanthatolentino2438
"Lots of people walk their dogs around here! There's really nothing to like or dislike, its just a normal thing to see here. "
  • Fknmegan
"30 years I have grown up here and I have never lived anywhere else. It’s not too safe but it’s a community and people who have lived here feel comfortable "
  • G.garibay93
"Neighbors dogs are always wandering around the street and poop in our front yard. Their owners know and don't do anything about it."
  • Herjesse63
"I’ve lived here 8 yrs. My parents have lived here 40 years. The neighborhood has always been pretty peaceful, neighbors all friendly, and look after one another and we always inform each other if there is anything or anyone around that looks suspicious and doesn’t live around us. "
  • Herjesse63
"This is a pet friendly neighborhood, neighbors are always walking their dogs around the neighborhood. "
  • Jessica P.
"I don’t own a dog. I would assume it would be ok to have a medium size dog because some of the backyards can be a little small. "
  • Jenny
"I see people walking their dogs all the time. they are pretty welcoming. Doesn't bother me at all, as long as they pick up after their pets. "
  • Joanny822
"Nice and great community, I like this area because ppl are nice and quiet neighborhood. Also community have gate, transport only with code. Clean and comfortable. You will like to move in to this area. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s getting better but the fireworks go off almost year round even though it is not permitted since it’s unincorporated Los Ángeles county. "
  • Christykpink
"Valinda is unincorporated LA County and therefore fireworks are illegal but that doesn’t seem to stop some residents of valinda and surrounding cities from blowing up fireworks year round and startling your dogs. "
  • Precious M. B.
"seriously, the best place for 4th of july. it's like the "Disneyland of the area". plus there are no street lights so it's only the lights on would be the show. also ur kids would have to come back when the street light is on because the corner will only be lit. "
  • Brenda P.
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood since I was nine I am currently 27 years old. I have always felt safe in my neighborhood I’m able to walk my dogs at pretty much any given hour without disturbing my neighbors. It’s a friendly quiet neighborhood you don’t hear the loud noises. To be quite honest it’s usually very peaceful here"
  • Belle
"I've lived here for over 20 years and raised two children in the area. I am familiar with this block and it does stand out against the rest of the area: clean and lots of curb appeal thanks to owners who care about the neighborhood. Close to lots of amenities like shopping and dining options. Not too far from the Metrolink trains for commuters. The schools are decent and have improved over the years, although it does require active, involved parents to ensure student success. Very suburban so probably not too exciting for singles. But there are fun nearby "old towns" in Covina and Whittier that offer lots to do,"
