What Locals Say about River Park

  • Sasha Korolkov
"access to the river, music, art, farmers markets, its like the suburbs but without modern suburbia. "
  • Wendy G.
"It’s a true neighborhood, with neighbors that know each other and watch out for each other. It feels very safe. "
  • Sarah K.
"Close to 50 and 80, but there are only a few ways in and out of River Park, so it can take 10 minutes to get out of the neighborhood. "
  • Richard W.
"After spending 12 years in the heart of LA, River Park felt like a breath of fresh air 17 years ago. We brought our two young children to Sacramento for a change of lifestyle and fell in love with the area. The neighborhood is convenient to Sacramento State University, Mercy, Sutter and UC Davis Medical Centers, as well as public transit. The central location to the American River and bike trail are nice, as are the well attended public pool, tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields showing me there is a sense of community. I love the mix of young families to retirees. It is fun seeing the Fourth of July parade of kids riding bikes and trikes down the street followed by the fireworks viewing in the evening on the levee. This is an all around great spot to put roots down. "
  • "One of the best kept secrets in Sacramento. 4th of July parades, little league and bobby sox are big deals, take evening walks without worry. Tree lined streets lined with azaleas in the spring. American River Parkway adjacent to area, with direct access to Ameridan River for beaches, steelhead and salmon fishing, and just nature hikes. You will not find a more pleasant area in all of Sacramento"
