Read what parents are saying about Discovery MontessoriMy child has been enrolled since age 2.5 and is now 5. What I appreciate most about Discovery is that the staff don’t give up on the child when they don’t check the box for the “Montessori poster child”. They go above and beyond to try and find what teaching style works best for each of their students.
Posted by a parent on 11/9/2023Low teacher/student ratios means children get more direct learning opportunities one-on-one.Caring staff, engaging program. Would recommend.
Posted by a parent on 8/4/2023We can not recommend Discovery Montessori School. We made the decision to pull our child from this program. There were a lot of, “hmm” and “what the heck” moments that we were uncomfortable with. From staff, owners to other student’s behavior, something feels very off. Communication was generic and we never really felt like we knew what was being taught and what happened inside the school. There were a lot of bullying type incidents and student fights. Teachers do not seem to understand Montessori or children. Research your school before making a hasty decision. We wish we did.
Posted by a parent on 8/2/2022Not good. I feel ganged up on every time I walk through the doors. This should be a place where both students and parents are all treated equally and it is far from that. Good luck to single fathers taking their kids to this place.

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe joined Naval Avenue this year with 2 of our kids and have had a great experience. Teachers who are engaged and love what they do, very good at communicating. They have specialists to assist those who need extra help and have worked really hard at bringing the pandemic kids up to the grade level with small work groups and individual instruction. I think it is important to note that parent involvement is crucial to a better school experience, you get out what you put into it. We collaborate with the teachers to work on each of our kids challenges and opportunities and see vast improvement in their academic and social/emotional skills. As soon as a bully issue arose, we spoke with the teacher who not only dealt with the individual student, but also did an entire unit for the class on standby bullying and how it affects people too. I was impressed and learned the bully apologized to my kid and they have been friends since. We were given an opportunity to move our kids and have decided we like where they are and the support from this school has been great.Parent Review1mo ago - West Hills STEM Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent interactions with some of the staff members at West Hills Stem Academy. While I appreciate the hard work and dedication of the faculty, I have noticed that some of them have displayed a negative attitude towards students, parents, and colleagues. I have observed that some staff members are not as flexible as they could be in accommodating the needs of students and parents and other staff. It is important for the school to be responsive and adaptable to the needs of everyone. In fact, out of all the staff I've interacted with, only half of them were kind and seemingly flexible with working with me. The other half seemed to talk at me. Instead of having an effective and respectful conversation, I left feeling scolded and unwelcome. Furthermore, one staff member, in short, told me that asking for my name was trivial. I felt our interaction was disappointing and unprofessional.I believe that it is important for all staff members to maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards everyone. This not only creates a welcoming and inclusive environment but also helps to build a strong relationship between the school and its community.Other Review11mo ago - East Port Orchard Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son went there for 1st and 2nd grade. The 1st grade teacher didn't really do anything to help him or the kid bullying him. 2nd grade was a little better at least the teacher was more helpful but the Principal doesn't care about the kid getting bullied she even asked my son if he started the fight. How could he when he was being held down by one student and the other student threw a rubber ball at him. That was our final staw we pulled him out and now home school him an he is an A and B student.Parent Review1mo ago - Hidden Creek Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to hidden creek when my oldest son was in 4th grade. It was a very positive experience for all of us. My son has adhd and the teacher was very willing to work with us and let us know if she noticed him struggling. There has been great communication between teachers and parents. His fifth grade teachers went above and beyond to teach their students with experiences and not just text in a book. My oldest is now in middle school and our youngest is at hidden creek. The teachers have been amazing and all the staff I have interacted with have been nothing but amazing and seem to genuinely love and care for the students. My children have gained self confidence and the school staff encourage them to be self sufficient and also hold themselves accountable for their actions good or bad. We are military and getting ready to move again and I will very much miss this school.Parent Review4y ago - Sidney Glen Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers have been great to work with and everyone seems truly happy to be working there. Our sons teacher is always helpful and every chat we have had with other staff and teachers has been positive. My wife attended Sidney Glen and said its just as great as she remembers and some of the teachers are still there.Parent Review7mo ago - South Kitsap Christian School
