Read what parents are saying about South Buffalo Charter SchoolMy 1st grader has only been at South Buffalo Charter School for a month, but already it seems a lot better than her former school, Southside Elementary. She hasn't had the bus problems with the kids, and seems genuinely excited about learning. They use a lot of positive reinforcement from what I can tell, such as calling the parents in front of the whole class to gush about how well your child is doing. I'll update when I know more...

Posted by a parent on 4/21/2018We LOVED this school until the Head Master took over in August of 2014. The school moral is gone. The teachers are always stressed and my son hates going to school. We will not return next year and I will not longer recommend this school to friends and family.
Posted by a parent on 1/17/2015My daughter is in Kindergarted at SBCS. Whenever I pick her up or drop her off, the staff always greats her by name and smiles at us. Mrs. Flanagan, her teacher is wonderful! I am so happy I was able to send her to this school. I do wish they had a better sports program, but maybe in time. Also, more parents need to be involved with the PTA.

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have graduated from this school and have since graduated from high school and am now in college. I am a Penn state student. This is why my review is at a 2 star, however I am fairly certain I am the only student from my year of graduation who went to college or even trade school. I would say that some teachers in this school are very good like Mrs. Proietto and Mr. Gough but others were definitly not. I love this school and want to visit soon to see my old teachers and I would recommend this school if living in or near the lovejoy area (would not recommend If any other middle school is closer however)Other Review2y ago - Ps 69 Houghton Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend sending your child here. If your child is bullied the school will do nothing about it. Kids that are bullies are well liked and favored by the teachers. While actually good and quiet students are ignored and given half assed rewards. Some of the teachers that are actually nice are way to easy going and can’t control their class. While teachers that are strict are way too strict.
