My parents put me into this school in kindergarten and I have attended from then all the way to 8th grade. The Elementary side of the school is great. The reason I am coming on here today is to share about my experience in middle school at RCS. With the school being so small, it isolates students who cant fit into a friend group. Many grades have close to only 10 kids. It doesn't prepare students for life following their time at RCS, especially a big high school. Personally, I didn't necessarily like anyone in my grade and had to put on a fake smile many days. I currently am experiencing loneliness and depression mainly from the fact that there wasn't many people to make friends with. Not to mention many sub par teachers. If any parents are considering sending their kids here, especially middle school, I would consider other options first.

Rockford Christian School has been a fabulous school for our family. Teachers work hard to meet students' needs and truly want to support children in developing their God-given gifts. Each class makes regular visits to Camp Roger (located nearby) for outdoor learning experiences that tie with the curriculum and to help them see God at work in His creation.

The school itself isn't bad but the academics are below standard. They don't have gifted and talented programming and struggle to know how to work with kids who are anything above average. Teachers are not very communicative. I think the new principal is trying to turn things around but admittedly it will take years. I would particulary avoid 4th and 5th grades - these teachers in particular have for a long time been known to parents as teaching below the standard. Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers are really great. 2nd and 3rd grade teachers are poor. Again, we love the school but moved our kids because the academics were so sub-par. The teachers may be "warm and nurturing" - the facilities may be great - the other opinions aren't totally wrong. But when you compare Rockford Christian to other schools, there is no comparison academically and really no idea by the teachers re how to truly challenge kids.

Rockford Christian is an excellent school and has a loving, Christian "family" environment. The staff and teachers are warm and nurturing and we have appreciated its small size because each student is given individual attention. It has beautiful facilities and provides many of the offerings of a larger school, including sports and other extracurriculars in which all students can be involved. This is Christ-centered education at its best.

Our three girls have attended Rockford Christian Schools (one graduated now) since 2001. We have never been disappointed, and it has been a great place for them to grow. The teachers are amazingly committed, and all value and nurture their individual talents. Great academic support/special service, athletics, and arts programs, and a strong dedicated principal. The kids grow to know each other in great community, and the families have as well.
