The Pike School

My children have been part of Pike since Pre-K, and are excelling in the Lower School. Throughout our journey in the lower school, every teacher they've had has been exceptional. They prioritize developing the whole child, taking the time to understand children’s individual needs, and infusing fun and creative learning into classroom activities. With small class sizes, a diverse student body, a strong emphasis on the outdoors, and a crucial focus on fostering kindness and empathy, Pike creates an environment where students thrive. Choosing Pike has undoubtedly been one of the best choices for our family, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing our children's continued growth at the school.

I really like the small classes and curriculum. I do not like the overtly liberal bias. They're accepting of everyone unless you are a conservative.

Unless you are a raging liberal, do not put your kid in Pike!!!!

I like the principal and her work done so far at Pike. But there is a lot of left leaning agenda at Pike that makes it very boring to be at Pike. It is a one way street when it comes to social issues. You either lean left or you will be called homophobic or whatever. Education wise I would rate them 2-3 stars. I would recommend pike to parents whose kids are1) Need attention and you have money like 40 k to spare2) Your local public school is not good at all3) You are rich and don't know what to do with your moneyI like the principal though but I hate the agenda of the school. The grading in Pike is not fair and your kid will compete with public school student when applying to prep schools like PA and they will suffer as currently prep schools are trashing SSAT scores. This coming from a parent of a kid who aced the SSAT but still did not make it to the dream school because of Pike grades. So parents beware what you are getting into and don't repent.

My time at Pike was nothing but exceptional. Pike set my academic foundation and established my love of learning. Looking back it is easy to see how Pike prepared me for high school, college, and my professional career. The work was rigorous enough to constantly challenge me while offering an incredibly strong support system that never made me feel discouraged. Now, many years later, I am still great friends with my peers and in constant contact with the community. Pre-k through 9th Grade Alum.
