Read what parents are saying about Christian Heritage Academy - Chicago CampusWe have been blessed to be a part of this special school for 4 years. It has nurtured our daughters academically, socially, and most importantly, spiritually. The foundation of instruction is a Biblical worldview, and the teachers live what they teach. It also offers a loving and inclusive parent community with many opportunities to serve in the classroom and connect both inside and outside of the school. We love CHA Chicago!
Posted by a parent on 10/25/2014Christian Heritage Academy is a hidden gem in Chicago. The school has an amazing community of parents and teachers. The parents are actively involved with the school and with the staff. The small class sizes allow for students to have a good amount of attention from their teacher. The Christian teaching during chapel are one of children's favorite lessons during the week. The school focuses on great education, but also strives to raise children into adults of integrity. CHA has a unique approach to discipline that is unlike any school I researched-- it is a peace keepers method which teaches children how to resolve conflicts with each other in a way that is respectful and kind. I truly love this school and my daughter who is attending for her second year loves this school too.
Posted by a parent on 5/27/2014CHA is a marvelous addition to the Chicago educational landscape. It is unlike any other school in Chicago, offering a nurturing environment with a highly qualified staff, involved parents and an excellent education. All of this done through a Biblical worldview which grounds and disciples students in their faith and cultivates in them a heart for service to others.
Posted by a teacher on 1/5/2014After researching nearly EVERY school in Chicago (which is a lot--magnet schools, neighborhood, classical, montessori, private, parochial, the list goes on . . .) we were a little discouraged. We wanted something academically rigorous but with small class sizes. We didn't mind paying for a private school, but didn't want to pay so much that we couldn't save for our kids' college. And we wanted our kids to have the arts and faith as a part of the curriculum. Then in 2009, CHA Chicago was formed! I believe it to be the BEST education in Chicago--offering components of classical and montessori schools. The curricula is play-based which is fantastic for helping young children to develop a love of learning. And it integrates Christian faith and learning (meaning that faith isn't relegated to chapel time, it's incorporated into all aspects of the school day, helping kids to learn to put other people first, to share, to never exclude a friend, etc.) Once children begin full-time school, it becomes the place that most influences them--even more than their parents. We are SO GRATEFUL to have CHA as the place that is most influencing, instructing and INSPIRING our children.
Posted by a parent on 10/1/2013Christian Heritage Academy (CHA) Chicago is the best Christian education in the city of Chicago. Hands down. The teachers and administrators are incredible, with resumes that boast child development, education, and Christian theology expertise. Class sizes are kept small on purpose so each child receives one-on-one, tailored attention in each subject. Last, there is a culture that is fun-loving and enthusiastic about learning. This is a place that wants kids to know that their life journey is one of faith, learning, academic excellence, and FUN. It just doesn't get any better.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience at Chicago Grammar School has been excellent. After a rough Kinder experience at a large school, we started looking for a smaller school for our son. He joined CGS at Grade 1. CGS’s close-knit environment did wonders for him. He came out of his shell, went from being overly shy and timid to a confident 2nd grader (soon to be 5th grader in Fall 2020). It has been so cool to see him grow and flourish and we are thankful to have found CGS, via word of mouth in our case. It is Chicago's hidden gem. Our favorite part of the school is how effectively they support students who need differentiated learning. The teachers are amazing when it comes to working with me whenever differentiation is needed. I love that all teachers (regardless of grade) are on the school app, so I can quickly find the teacher and send them a text via the app. Speaking of the app, I personally am a big fan of the school being app-based. The entire school is on the app - teachers, parents and admin – everyone is reachable. Homework, grades, one-on-one teacher/student/parent feedback, school announcements...all in one place. It has been the most productive way to communicate that I've seen to date. It brings a neighborhood feel to the school, which private, city-wide schools usually lack in my opinion. We visited 3 small-medium sized private schools, applied to 2, got accepted to both, but it was the visit portion to CGS that cemented the decision for us. If you’re looking for a warm and nurturing, but smaller elementary school environment for your child, CGS is a school a parent must visit before making a final decision because your child will be spending a very big portion of their life’s hours in this elementary school environment.Parent Review3y ago - Bright Horizons at The Atrium

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a "boy" friendly school. Which matters of course if you have a boy that wants to compete and be ambitious. You won't appreciate that until you enroll you son in a school with an "everyone gets a trophy" philosophy, and no running or playing real physical in recess or gym, and watch him start disengaging from school. It took a lot of research, but short of enrolling boys in an all male school, this is as close as it gets in Chicago. Plus, we found in their previous private school that was rated one of the top in Chicago, all transfers from British were far ahead of everyone. That should tell you something.Parent Review5y ago - Latin School of Chicago Lower
