7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been the scene of many violent altercations on school property-bathrooms, classrooms, hallways, bus stop and more- that require security to intervene. Classrooms built for teaching are disrupted due to violence that requires teachers to act like bouncers instead of educators. The administration at all levels is aware of the level of violence but will not acknowledge it with formal reports to MCPS. Multiple videos are readily available for review that document the violence that endangers students. PBHS has great potential with its relatively new facilities ,however ,the special education services do not meet the needs of the students and the iEP meetings fail to offer action plans that result in increased academic performance, graduation rates or college readiness. Before sending your child to this school, ask to see the security logs regarding violent incidents on school property and compare them to other schools. These should be available from MCPS ,however ,this is not likely. . The safety and education of your child is at stake. Bullying is not taken seriously a when brought to the attention of the administration. Some students are targeted repeatedly with violent confrontations which makes learning an unrealistic option.Parent Review1mo ago - Springbrook High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCannot recommend this school. There are some very good teachers, there are diverse course options, and they try to serve the needs of high-achieving students with advanced classes. But the overall student body is uninterested in school, behave badly in classes, so any classes outside of honors or advanced are a real bummer for a kids who actually cares about learning. Discipline is a big issue. First week of 6th grade my kid comes home agog at the fact there were fist fights in the cafeteria, kids talking about beating up other kids. Bullying of gay/gender fluid/trans kids is so constant it largely goes ignored because the teachers would have to spend all day chastising and responding to it. The principal lacks any leadership in these areas. The guidance counselors are doing their best and recognize the whole culture needs a changes, but they need about twice the personnel to deal with the behavioral issues. My kid went in happy and excited for middle school but came out of this school with serious mental health challenges, I truly believe in part because of the stressful environment at this school. Another student brought a weapon to school, we were barely notified (lack of detail) and never told student was returning to classes with our kid, but apparently lack of transparency and tolerance for bringing weapons to school is part of 'restorative justice' approach.Parent Review1y ago - James Hubert Blake High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBlake is a great school if you like art like dance and stuff. While i at blake i took tap class and it was wonderful to learn the school has many classes to choose form but one downfall is that they have bad kids and it can be distracting in class and they always have fights in school but overall it a good school for arts and stuff.Other Review10y ago - Check out schools near 276 Amberleigh Dr.

"They do look out for each other. On several occasion neighbors do return packages to me because they were delivered to them instead. In the same token packages have been delivered to me in error and I am happy to deliver them to its rightful owner. I do think it’s correct to say we do look out for each other and are always looking out for each others children to make sure they are safe. "

"Although I don’t depend on public information the commute is quite average. Whenever there is road work during rush hours there’s always a delay sometimes more than other especially on route 32 with sometimes major road work. Of late it has gotten much better because most of the work seems to be done. I must give the workers a big thank you for the exceptional work they have done even though the weather was so hot most of the time. Thank you from all the commuters of route 32. It is such a pleasure driving there now that it’s not that narrow and winding as before. Thank you workers for all your hard work. May God bless you and your family. "
