"My family has lived in Oxford since 2005. My kids attend Oxford Public Schools. The school-system is IB certified and rated as one of the best public school systems in the United States! The village is a gem with a nearly non-existent crime rate. The downtown area is vibrant with many restaurants, bars, and boutiques. There are no abandoned businesses in this village! Visitors can park in numerous places downtown for shopping or dining. Shopping includes unique businesses like chocolate shops, bakeries, a cowboy store, pie company, art galleries, antique store, toy store, hardware stores, lawn and garden stores, and an embroidery store amongst the numerous restaurants, bars, a movie theater, and a supermarket! The village includes all the services people require for comfort and peace of mind. Trash and recycling pick-up is included with your taxes. The roads are kept clean in the warm months and clear in the winter months. We have 24/7 emergency centers. Specialists include numerous doctors, of course, but also veterinarians, optometrists, physical therapists, massage therapists, and chiropractors. Services also include a beautiful public library and paved walking/riding trails. My favorite part of Oxford, though, is walking the neighborhoods. The downtown neighborhoods bring inspiring views of numerous historical homes and meticulously-kept houses with professionally-landscaped yards. Connected to the downtown area is a large sub-division containing innumerable houses that could be taken right from the pages of Better Homes and Gardens! As if that is not enough to convince you this is one of the most beautiful villages in Michigan, surround the village with numerous lakes, beaches, parks, and trail systems and you should be convinced! Oxford, Michigan in northern Oakland County is a true Michigan gem!"
