7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter loves art and music. Lunch is far too short and the entire day feels rushed to her. She doesn't get any downtime. Teachers are super stressed out and it shows. Huge class sizes are a problem. I'd like to see smaller classes and a focus on what's truly important. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teacher’s are better then people make it seem, and the principal that did all the stuff written in the reviews is gone. I would say this is a pretty good school but the one thing that isn’t handled enough is bullying. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are, for the most part, amazing. They are always willing to go out of their way to help a student. I recommend NPHS a lot. One of my teachers even offered to pay for an AP exam if that was difference between taking it or not. Never, EVER, try to drop an AP class at NPHS as the principal is more concerned about making herself and her school look good by boosting AP numbers than about an individual's needs. Sometimes, 'electives' are not electives and students are simply placed into them because the principal said so. Don't try to drop those classes either, as it is harder to drop than an AP class. Be prepared for parental involvement it anything goes to the principal if you want anything done. Out of 5 stars possible, Teachers get 5 stars, Facilities get 4 stars, Principal gets 1 star.Student Review13y ago

"It’s a small mountain town less than two hours from NYC. Many weekenders from NYC have homes here. And the students from SUNY New Paltz keeps a vibrant vibe to the town. "

"It is an amazing place to raise a family. There is so much to do from biking, hiking, fishing, cycling, rock climbing, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Local farms everywhere, people are amazing. Seriously one of the best places on earth. I love where I live and hope to share it with people that care and want to teach future generations to respect and love Mother Earth. "

"I love the free spirit of the town. The village has great eateries, little shops and bars. Many nights with live music. Very artsy town.outdoor activities abound. There’s Hiking, biking, kayaking and rock climbing. Close to NYC. "
