This school is terrible. They search you for no reason,unsafe, teachers dont care about your safety or you. this school isnt a school you should have your child at if you want them to be in safe hands. this school does nothing to protect their students. I give only 2 stars because some teachers actually work hard and want to see you succeed you may not find a lot at that school.

I had 2 children attend Joseph Kerr, & I will always be grateful for the high standards that are emphasized & upheld at this school, including, but not limited to, the academics, leadership skills, personal responsibility, integrity, kindness, & character strength. Not only did I feel that my children were educated academically, but the teachers, principal, & staff, all seemed to support being part of a community that supports the kids with becoming the best versions of themselves, while also acknowledging the world around them.The leadership teacher, Mr. Perris, is tireless when it comes to motivating and guiding his leadership students. He is creative, and always positive and optimistic; while still holding boundaries for expecting the kids to have personal responsibility and accountability. Both of my children remember several teachers from the school as being their favorites, including Mr. Perris, PE teacher Mr. Martinez, English teachers (Mrs. Blackwood, & Mrs. Douglas), Mrs. Deml, Mr. McKinney, & Mr. Steffens. The list goes on….There is a real community/team effort at Kerr.The principal, Mr. Z. Cheney, is a remarkable public speaker, and each of his graduation speeches were more poignant, and inspirational than any other graduation speech that I have heard throughout my own personal education experience (& I’ve been through graduate school, so I’ve heard my fair share of graduation speeches). Someone needs to give Mr. Cheney a louder microphone, because many people in this world could benefit from the things he has to say. The Elk Grove community is very fortunate to have such remarkable people working at Joseph Kerr Middle School. I sincerely thank everyone at Joseph Kerr Middle School for participating in the lives of my children in such a positive way.

So this is the 2nd year my daughter has been a victim of bullying and I am almost about to pull her from school because the vice principal told me the kid who bullied her would not play on basketball team, but he actually ended up playing and no consequences were ever done. So the vice principal lied to me just to appease me at the time. Which is unacceptable. So this bully is racist against darker skinned girls and is bullying my daughter and her friends and nothing is being done and even the principal tried to tell my daughter not to go up to office as much, which is so not okay since obviously she does not feel safe there now the principal is tryin to bully my daughter into not calling her parent when she doesn’t feel safe. Y is nothing being done, who thinks this is okay and I will find every website and repost this because I’m sick of feickert and how they have treated me and my child.
