3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBullying is a huge problem at this school. it’s not only child on child Bullying. The staff, in particular the office in the yard duty are vicious to children. Your child has an incident at school where they’re hurt don’t expect a phone call. Expect to be gossiped about and made fun of you concerned about your child and upset that you weren’t notified. Discretion is most certainly not in the vocabulary of the school staff. They’re more concerned with numbers and getting paid by the state then if your child is hurt, they have a new principal every month it seems like. The latest is bribing kids even if they’re sick to come to school so they can have slime parties. That being said, there are some great teachers who have been there for a very long time but once you get past second grade, you might as well change schools. Also notice it only goes up to fourth grade because at fifth grade soon to be fourth grade, the kids are sent to the junior high because of overcrowding. The school both three elementary schools yet only uses one. And good luck dealing with the staff because nepotism is prevalent throughout the school and the district office which has been sued multiple times for a plethora of things. Student confidentiality is not important. That is reflected in actions, such as releasing information without following proper state mandated guidelines. And then getting angry when they get in trouble and causing trouble for your child at school hence the bullying. It’s a shame in an area where people clearly value their children, though there is such a junk school ran by a district of individuals who has been sued, and is completely incompetent inapt at that job. There is only one grade level so if your child is behind, or if they are accelerated… There is no modification.Parent Review1mo ago - High Desert School
