7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe loved this school! We have had two kids go through here and it has been a wonderful launching point for their college careers. One of our children has 504/ IEP needs. They have been met very well. (Yes, we do have to educate the teachers/ team every semester on what works best for our kid, but it is always done in a positive way with very little pushback.) There are a few holdout staff from "back in the day" when the town was small and things were done differently. Luckily, those are getting weeded out. There are amazing opportunities for AP/ Dual credit. The school is on a great trajectory with a wonderful new principal. We will miss it!Parent Review1y ago - Indian Land Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe left VWES for many red flags but just to mention two of them. Assistant principal Heather Jackson told us that teachers need to yell to control the classroom. 2nd grade teacher was yelling all day (at another child not mine) creating a stressful environment for the rest of the class. Same teacher failed to file a report and did not send my child to the nurse after a fall from the top of the swing, all her back was scratched from the neck to mid back and she had a concussion and the same Heather Jackson told me that usually parents don’t want to hear from the school unless their kids are dying. Most of the staff is very nice and the teacher left for another school but I wouldn’t trust them with my children ever again.Parent Review3mo ago
