It is worth finding virtually any other school system to put your children in. This school's administration believes they are the staff of Shawshank Prison. They demand perfection from their students and understanding for their own adult shortcomings. For example, the day before my child's suspension, the office placed her noncustodial father on a legal document for her permit as her legal guardian. There wasn't a breath about the potential consequences of this type of "mistake". Their violations for "disrespect" are harsher than their violations for academic dishonesty, which should give you a clear view of their priorities. We're talking about disrespect as in a child disagreeing with them, not blatant disrespect. They will compete in a p*ssing contest for who has the most authority over your child. They do not take mental health seriously. Their practices are closed-minded and outdated. Officials will pretend that they are considering your perspective, but ultimately, they will allow their administrators to conduct public school as if they are prison camps. Your child cannot make mistakes at this school. They cannot think, blink, or breathe out of line without consequence. There is no compassion and no empathy. There are no constitutional rights. Do NOT send your child to this school.

My daughter came to OGES in the middle of the school year when we bought our house in lewisburg. She is incredibly bright and eager to please-has NEVER had behavior issues, or problems with bullying until she came to OGES. Her teacher has made her a scape goat- gives her demerits freely when other kids come up and talk to her during non talking time-for example, while I hear about a child in her class who weekly causes outbursts with cussing and even sometimes kicking and screaming with hardly ever even being sent to the office. When she is sent to the principle-she comes back and smugly states that they don't do anything to her. My child gets alienated and picked on by the "popular girls" regularly and comes home in tears because nothing is being done about it. I'm sure there are great teachers here-but I could not be more dissatisfied with how things are being handled in my child's third grade class. My kid is a great kid and what this dynamic is doing to her self esteem is beyond shameful.

I will wholeheartedly recommend this school! Great leadership and teachers! I’m forever grateful for all the support given to my child and my self!
