"Murray Hill is undergoing what some call a "Gentrification" process. Many of these lovely older homes are being bought, renovated and resold to more affluent (okay, usually caucasian) people who are not quite able to buy in Riverside or Avondale. The result is that more businesses are opening which, in turn, brings an influx of people from all social strata. Of course, it still has a way to go before it can compete with the likes of Avondale or Five Points...but just give it time! Yes, there are definitely areas and sometimes just blocks that one should avoid, but on the whole, the neighborhood has a good "Feel" to it and a fairly strong sense of community. Right now is a good time to move to Murray Hill because, from observing the measurable current trends, housing prices are going to rise steadily for the next few years."

"Not a good neighborhood for children. A lot of dogs. Not many places for them to play not a lot of places close by just for children. Usually see them walking in the street. A lot of people walk and it could be dangerous. Also not a lot of fenced in houses "
