5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had 5 kids graduate from this school... One was a part of the Academy. I never had any issues with bullying or anything. I agree the principal has a laid back approach. Every school will have its issues, no one school is perfect. I believe this school gets a bad reputation based on past experiences. Teachers try the best they can with the resources given. This school is over 50 years old and needs to be badly remodeled and upgraded.Parent Review4y ago - Bayside Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBayside Middle School is not as bad of a middle school as others make it out to be. Although, it is by no means great. Personally, I did not have a negative experience here. I did not experience racism, discrimination, or bullying. Most people were kind, and I would not say that this school has a bullying problem. I had a handful of teachers that were phenomenal and truly cared about their students. However, this school definitely has an problem when it comes to certain teachers, fights, and administration. As the years have gone by, administration has constantly changed and become much more lenient. Students are allowed to roam throughout the halls during instructional time and skip class without consequence. The administration of this school doesn't even bat an eye at the behavior. Fights were definitely a huge issue when I attended this school and I believe they still are. There have also been complaints about certain teachers and their strange behaviors at this school and the administration still praises them. Many students are sent to Renaissance Academy for their actions. A handful of the students that attend here are low income and underserved, so I think this contributes to the disciplinary issues and fights. Bayside Middle does have a music studio and STEM room in the school, it is very unique. Despite all of this, I don't think your child would be in any harm if you send them here or are zoned for this school.Other Review10mo ago - Newtown Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis so has been great for my son. My situation is a bit different. My son lives with his father and I live in PHiladelphia but I am very concerned when it comes to my son education. If I have questions I can always send a email to Principal Sullivan and he gets right back to me with an answer. I received my son report card and progress reports on a regular basis.
