Description
Standing proudly on an elevated perch, in this private almost “SECRET” neighborhood sits The Starke House, a 1929 Spanish Revival home nestled at the base of Mt Rubidoux. For the first time on the market in over 40 years. This historic gem has gone through an extensive restoration. On the ground floor, sits a delightful studio apartment. This is a one-bedroom ensuite with convenient kitchenette and bathroom, featuring a brand new mini-split system, and refinished douglas fir floors. Granite stone retaining walls and cobblestone steps lead you up to the main entrance. The expansive living room boasts incredible plaster tray ceilings, custom floral wrought iron sconces, wood-burning fireplace and quarter-sawn oak floors. A French door opens onto a deck, where mature live oak trees cast a dappled shade and you can soak in the captivating views that stretch out before you. Elegance abounds in the formal dining room, illuminated by a stunning restoration hardware solid brass chandelier. French doors lead out to a charming patio, complete with a fire pit, perfect for al fresco gatherings under the starlit sky. The charming kitchen equipped with updated appliances flows seamlessly into the dining room. Off the kitchen is a convenient laundry room. No expense spared renovating the main bathroom. Double arches, venetian plaster walls, and a custom Spanish Revival vanity, topped with Carrera marble add a touch of luxury. A large soaking tub beckons for relaxation, while the spacious walk-in shower features unlacquered brass fixtures from Morocco.. The half bath off the hall echoes the same luxuriousness, with venetian plaster, Restoration Hardware vanity topped with Carrera marble, and one-of-a-kind antique, art-nouveau mirror. Two generously sized bedrooms offer tranquil escapes, each adorned with custom sconces and framed by picturesque views through the restored casement windows. One of the many benefits of this private location is its proximity to so many outdoor activities. Take a private trail from your doorstep that winds its way up Mount Rubidoux, the most scenic hiking spot in the I.E. At the bottom of the street is the Santa Anna bike path, 110 miles of scenic trails from the San Bernardino County National Forest to the Pacific Ocean in Huntington Beach. Have the peace of living in a serene setting among nature, yet the convenience of being a part of the vibrant Downtown culture, with many restaurants, bars and museums.

"I've lived in quite a few cities in SoCal and this neighborhood is the best experience I've had. I moved here with my young son in 2018 and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Not only is the scenery beautiful but it's family oriented, safe to walk at night, and the schools are amazing. the homes are vintage and have won Neighborhood of the Year many times. I am happy to call Downtown Riverside my home. "

"Walking distance from Downtown Riverside; location of mission inn antique stores resturance bars and coffee houses. Also very close to unique and artistic park where you could walk to Rubidoux Mountain. R'mountain is a grate place to hike many go up for a nice fresh view up the mountain to see the city lights and unique view. And if your not a walker you could always go though the Santana Bike trail and test your self how far you could go. It's an active location and could always find something to do; with friendly a neighborhood everybody is welcomed "
