"great neighborhood and we have made lots of families with young kids love here, especially folks that work in Soma and at UCSF in Mission Bay. Mission Bay in particular is a wonderful neighborhood with a growing number of family friendly amenities including the Children's Playground, the Dhalia School Montessori School, and the Farmer's Market at Chase Center. Would def recommend to people with young kids that are looking for a friendly neighborhood."

"Too many dogs. Smells like dog pee everywhere. Also they bark like crazy if you live next to the dog parks it gets old fast"
- Dylan G.

"It used to not be a great area until the hospital was developed there. Its become much safer since then! A lot of new apartment buildings have been built and are still being built and it feels like a nice little community."
- Cherie P.

"Yes there’s a lot of green space and tons of cute friendly dogs in the neighborhood. Lots of parks in the area "
- Nathan F.

"The local kids park and dog park are great! They are clean and well maintained, and they give people an opportunity to meet others in the neighborhood. "
- Abhishek D.

"They would definitely like it. There are quite a few dog parks around. Neighborhood in general has lots of greenery and is pretty spread out. "
- Cait S.

"Public transportation is super convenient and very close to everything in the surrounding area. All stops on third are clean and rather safe too. "

"The sunniest area in San Francisco, very safe, water front and such a beautiful place to live in San Francisco "
- Abhishek D.

"Extremely safe neighborhood with plenty of parks for dogs to run around in. Neighborhood is very pet friendly."
- Nowucblanco

"There is a lot of fast-moving traffic and frustrated drivers around the streets here around King St, so young children need to stay close. 4th St, south of the canal, is pretty nice, but there are still a lot of homeless in and out of the area."
- Test T.
- Resident
- 4y ago
"Super convenient, clean and hip. As pretty as the hilly quaint neighborhoods are, there’s something really nice about being able to walk, jog, or bike on flat, wider streets with sidewalks. Also it’s warm and sunny! Cannot be stressed enough as much of San Francisco proper can be cold, foggy and/or windy. New coffee shops, bars and restaurants are opening every month. Very happening neighborhood! And sorry to say but one of the few neighborhoods where homeless population is very low. "
- John N.

"my building has 2 barbeques each year along with a few holiday parties and coffee social on Saturday mornings"
- John N.

"I've seen this neighborhood grow up from when the Giants first built their ballpark to now the addition of Chase Center. Great place to live to use Caltrain to southbay. 3 light rail MUNI lines, 4 Muni Bus Lines, coffee shops, restaurants, public library, banks, pharmacy, grocery stores, pist office all within a few blocks!"

"Clean, new construction, good food truck park, a bit sterile feeling, safe, not very diverse, quiet, feel safe with my kids"

- Sabrina L.

"I love the buildings and people. They're so nice, and it's a great place. It's amazing!"
- Oceania A.
- Resident

"The area is rather new with a lot of multi-function properties with retail on the bottom floor and residential on upper floors. It has attracted more influential businesses and a mix of residents. Everything is extremely convenient, from shopping to transportation, and a lot of planning went into the beautiful landscapes, community parks, and parking structures. The area is adjacent to AT&T Park, home of the SF Giants, so if you're a sports fan you can easily walk to the games and other events held at the Park. There are both low- and high-income-type properties, and the area attracts a diverse group of businesses and residents. It's high-density living, and there are not a lot of single-family-type homes in the area."
- Sabrina L.
- Resident
- 5y ago
"The kids love walking to see the birds everywhere."
- Ash S.
- Resident

"Many people have dogs here. It's a very friendly neighborhood for them. There is also a park for them."
- Ash S.
- Resident

"Usually the commute is okay. But when there is a game, it gets crazy."
- Ash S.
- Resident

"Mission Bay is currently developing. It's near the bay, AT&T Park, and UCSF children's hospital."
- Ash S.
- Resident

"It's a very secure neighborhood, and it has an amazing kids' park. There are several childcare options for working parents, and UCSF children's hospital is very close by for urgent or emergency care."
