The staff embraced my family and gave my 3 boys the emotional support they needed during an extremely difficult time. One teacher was determined my twins received the speech therapy they needed even though we were denied repeatedly.We left what was considered a great school in California. I honestly felt Matthews Elementary gave my children an education comparable to a private school. Now all three children have a college education. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePost covid this school has not been the same. Sports have been lacking but slowly getting back to normal but for the students that lost the opportunity the school offered nothing in exchange. Yearbook staff does not pay attention to the students running the yearbook. 2 years in a row pictures of previous years teams were posted in stead of kids who actually participated in the team so in short my Childs yearbook never shows them on a team despite playing for 2 years. Principal Golden (who's now leaving) took all many f the fun activities away from the student body. Several teachers admittedly just stopped caring post covid.
