3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to NPHS during its hey-day in the late 80s graduating in 1990. Teachers, students, administration were all at the top of their game. The Canucks were winning championships, theater won state championships (under the direction of the late Tom Lanno), arts were flourishing. The school and frankly the town, was a force to be reckoned with. It was an amazing education and I had an amazing experience. Then in a VERY short period of time, it all evaporated. Fights were a daily occurrence. Police were stationed at the doors (and this was in the early 90s when this was very uncommon). Plainfield and Newark students were infiltrating. Demographics of the town eroded. I'm not surprised to see the overall scores & other reviews. So sad. Hopefully one day the normals who care will retake the town and school.....Other Review2y ago - East End Elementary School

"It's not unique. It was a nice neighborhood many ages ago. The older generation is being taken over by younger crowds that to not maintain the upkeep of the homes. The city is doing its best with the introduction of charter schools to help our minority students. Several sections are crime and drug ridden. Would not recommend for families. "
