What Locals Say about Portsmouth

  • Robinfullerbritt
"I lived here for many year's it's a dangerous place now. And the price they are trying to charge is ridiculous. You can live in a nice place for the prices they are asking here. It's laughable. "

"I've lived in South Loxley for 47 years, very nice established community, perfect for young couples with children and pets, very pleasant neighbors, very private, and feels very safe as compared to some areas of VA. Very sad to leave as I raised both of my daughters there, however I am retired, 84 and ready for a new chapter. "

"knuckleheads, "users", vehicles with loud music, occasional speeding vehicles, gunshots, lack of sidewalks. BUT... EVERYTHING I'VE LISTED HERE IS CHANGING FOR THE BETTER. EVERYTHING. I've listed these because they still remain, however little. "

"The overall area is nice but the townhome’s themselves are not being well maintained for the area where it’s located. If you take a ride around the townhouse area you will see it is trashy, there is trash everywhere even in the parking lot, the dumpsters are overflowing with trash and furniture spilling out of it, the parking lot is filled with potholes. This area is run down & has not been maintained at all. Although you have some of the townhouses that are well maintained it doesn’t make up for the vast majority. It is sad because Charlestowne used to be very beautiful. Do yourself a favor pass this one but unless you’re buying the entire neighborhood & renovating it all!!"
