Description
Substantially renovated former hunting cabin now a fully appointed, four season house with brand new almost everything but oozing with historic charm and a big, stone fireplace. The house sits on a rock shelf overlooking a pond that is also part of the property, which totals about five acres and borders onto Cromline Creek at the bottom. A screened in porch running the width of the cabin provides an opportunity to sit outside and take in the world. A stone terrace is a perfect seating area for Summer meals.
The house is about a half-mile up a private, dirt road and 1000 miles from everything else. Even the neighbors are barely noticeable given the forest between and the orientation of the cabin. In gutting the bathroom and kitchen and adding in blown in insulation throughout we also fully upgraded to a mini-split system so that now each room can be set to a specific temperature, both in regards heating & cooling.
The house is fully furnished and all utilities are billed directly from the owner. A Hughes Dish is at the house and the cost of that account is less than $100/month. Finally, there is a garage that we use for storage but also includes full laundry and a second refrigerator
The location is rural but is just 10 minutes to the Village of Washingtonville where there is a grocery store, a pharmacy, a gas station, i.e. the essentials. The Salisbury Mills Metro North Train Station is less than five miles away.
We are offering a lease of 1-12 months with the opportunity to extend the lease a second year if the parties are amenable.
Smoking is not allowed in either the house or on the property.
