What Locals Say about Putnam Valley

  • Mannyb10
"Putnam Valley is country living with space between me and my neighbors but not isolated. Its country living within minutes of all major shopping and conveniences. We are also so close to the Rt6 & the Taconic pkwy"

"I’ve lived in Putnam Valley, NY for 26 years. The area is quite beautiful. There are multiple lakes where you can go swimming or boating. We have Fahnestock State Park, where you can go camping and hike the Appalachian Trail. There aren’t many businesses in Putnam County which means the sales tax is very high. Other than that, it’s a great place to live."

"New to the neighborhood but its beautiful, quiet and serene. Access to the lake makes it all the better! People are very friendly and its about an hour to the city, 30 mins to White Plains, 30 minutes to Danbury and Poughkeepsie so its close enough to everything worth driving to. Love it!"

"New to the neighborhood but it seems wonderful! It is tough having to go 10 mins+ for gas and a liaf of bread, but its worth it for overall lifestyle! Right on a lake and peace and quiet!"

"A beautiful and quiet town, but make sure you have a car to get around. Live by a lake which is gorgeous, active community and great school district, but it is tough to get around from what I can tell. Still new to the town."
