"They would like seeing all the dogs who live here but there are a lack of parks to take them to. Why is that "

"Love it here! The smell of the sea! The sounds of sea gulls and the charm of the Main Street at Christmas time. Astoria is beautiful all year round."

"The neighbors hate dogs, the other neighbors or too nosey, ODOT wont give us a pull in or pullout lane which means you have a 3 second pullout because of the blind curve on highway 30."

"Dog owners love the Riverwalk and use it extensively as motorists are not allowed. It’s a perfect haven for pets and per watchers. "

"Lots of older people but still friendly enough with kids. Close to a few different parks. Traffic can be a bit fast near main roads so stay vigilant. "

"Would not like the lack of a fenced/off leash dog park in Astoria. Would not like the low availability of rentals that accept dogs over 25lbs or pets in general. "

"I work and live in Astoria and this is the most vibrant small town I have ever lived in. It has an amazing walkability. We moved here after living in Europe and choose Astoria as it is the closest to a European Village we could find anywhere in the US. The community is very involved and committed to making Astoria an even better place to live than it already is. Astoria supports a diverse group of individuals that happily co-exist as a community. We have a child who has gone through the local school system and we have been very happy with the class sizes, quality of education and opportunities available to Astoria students. As far as things to do, for a Village of 10,000 we are an amazing community. The Liberty Theater showcases plays, musicals and concerts of all types. The local Shanghaied in Astoria provides light hearted theater. Many bars, brew pubs and the Astoria Event Center showcase local, Portland and Seattle bands. The-20+ Cruise Ships that dock in town along with the river boats that are loaded with tourists help bring another dimension to this small community. There is the Sunday Market, the 2nd Saturday Evening Art Walk, the Thursday Organic market and the monthly antique/flea market. As far as things to do check out the Scandinavian Fest, The Crab Fest, The County Fair, The Brew Cup, The Fisher Poets, the Tenor Guitar Workshops, Goonies Day, Concerts in the park, the Summer Classical Music Festival, the Regatta week, the Fisherman Competition, fishing, hunting, hiking, the beach, great restaurants, shops and on and on and on. Sorry we don’t have any malls here. "
