"Driving only, light traffic in area. Work commute to Nassau County is about 50 min to an hour in morning, an hour or more in evening. Nothing worth walking to in this neighborhood and good restaurants are non-existent."

"local traffic is never a problem. busy morning traffic outside of this area most of the time flows .Evening traffic can sometimes be a challenge. expect an additional 15 to 20 on the ride home. This community has alot to offer . Good location family oriented diverse .on a scale of 1 thru 10 .I'll rate it an 11 .Fortunate to live here as a renter. "

"Dog owners may not like the lack of sidewalks. It is Mostly just roads here right now. Sometimes that can be dangerous if cars are flying. There is also a lot of roadwork happening right now. "

"My commute is 8 minute from the Port Jefferson train station or 20 minutes from Ronkonkoma station. Ocean Avenue can be backed up with a lot of traffic depending on the time of day. Same thing with 347, it’s brutal during rush hour. "

"I have lived here for over 30 years in this diversely populated development. As a 72 year old retiree, I don’t have much in common with my considerably younger, child rearing neighbors, but I must say they are all among the best people anyone could wish for. They shovel my walks and driveway, invite my wife and me to their backyard pools and parties, check in on us to see if we need anything ... we couldn’t be treated better if we lived in a family compound. The service we get from our mail man and our sanitation workers is warm and personal. We consider them friends. Police, volunteer fire fighter, and emergency ambulance responses are fast and extremely competent. Properties are meticulously maintained. Taxes are low (for Long Island). Middle of Long Island location provides relatively easy access (by car) to both North Shore (rocky) and South Shore (white sandy) beaches. A great place to raise a family. My wife and I did."

"It’s diverse. There are 3 different school districts in my town, the housing is quasi-affordable for Long Island. It’s close to shopping, public transport (though the transport is shotty) and to the Long Island expressway "

" There are beautiful parts to Coram, and parts that need more attention. Anyone moving here needs to research which part they are moving to. But my town is diverse, with many family owned businesses, close commutes for hospital workers like myself (there are 3 within 15 mins of me) very close to the LIE (the main local expressway) many restaurants, bakeries, etc. but without a car, there are buses, but they don’t run on Sunday’s or in the evenings and rarely come. Basically, you should not come if you cannot drive. The cost of living is still New York prices. And chances are, if you see a house under 400,000 here, it’s in the area that is not reputable. The schools offer many extra activities, with great libraries. And being dead center of the island, it’s a twenty minute drive to either shore. I recommend the north shore for sunsets!"
