Description
This property is not currently for sale or for rent on Trulia. The description and property data below may have been provided by a third party, the homeowner or public records.
Spacious and comfortable 1br/1ba third-floor condo for rent in a well-maintained building in the heart of Adams Point. The condo was remodeled in 2019 with new kitchen appliances, countertops, and bathroom fixtures.
I lived here for three years and loved it! Tons of closet space (front hall, by the bathroom, and two in the bedroom), parking spot second-closest to the elevator, and a small additional storage unit down the hall. The building has secure fob access and a roof deck with awesome views of Downtown Oakland and the hills.
The location is amazing: Right across the street from Lakeside Park and Lake Merritt, two blocks to Whole Foods, 10 minutes to Uptown, and less than 15 minutes to BART. There's a lovely coffee window and Persian restaurant right in the next building. Walkable to almost anything you can think of, including the Grand Lake Theater and Saturday farmer's market.
Owner pays water, renter responsible for electric. Webpass internet (great 500mbps service) is included through November, renter responsible for internet after that.
Cats and small, well-behaved dogs very welcome. No smoking.
Pictures show furniture, but the condo is offered unfurnished!

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son just finished kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary, and I feel so fortunate to be part of this school community. From teachers to administrators to parents and community partners, I know he's part of a community that is passionate about learning and making a difference here in downtown Oakland and beyond.Parent Review4y ago - Oakland Technical High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son graduated from Oakland Tech in 2021. They prepared him for college and is doing well. He was part of the Race, Policy, and Law academy and had excellent teachers. My son had an IEP and his services were excellent. I'm disappointed in the review by the parent complaining about "labor strife." Very consistent with my experience with many of the families there. Truthfully, they were very rude and entitled. We support the teachers 100%.Parent Review10mo ago - Westlake Middle School

"Farmers markets and events at lake merrit. Amongst bars and restaurants and a vining downtown and uptown area"

"Lots of great walks and close to the lake! Hills to exercise your dog when walking around the block "
- Michael M.
- Resident

"I think dog owners would like to see a dog park around the lake. They probably would like to have a place so there dogs can run down to the lake and it’s fenced off from the people and kids."
- Sean T.
- Resident
- 4y ago
"Aside from Lake Merritt it's a pretty urban place. not necessarily a spot with a ton of open space for animals. "
- Morgan

"They would like the long hilly blocks in the neighborhood and access to parks trails and the lake trails. Also the pet stores and pet clinic."
- Jeremyj82
- Resident

"Close to FairyLand. Never see kids without parents in this community. These buildings are old so it’s a challenge for noise pollution. Also is close to a park on grand. "

"Still a lot of crime in the neighborhood. Theft and assaults. Parking is extremely difficult. Too many people. "

"nice neighborhood. Poor on street parking options, gentrification galore makes it not as cool as it used to be. Big property management companies moving out long term residents making it SF East."
- Laura H.

"The lake is a great place to take kids or pets."
- Bob S.

"Take your dog for a walk around Lake Merritt. Great exercise and lovely views."

"The NL bus goes to and from San Francisco through downtown Oakland."
- Lisa T.
- Resident

"The 19th Street BART station is a 20-minute walk from my place, and from there it's just a 15-minute ride into the city. Lots of trains pass through this station, so you don't need to bother checking the schedule—you can just show up."
- Bob S.
- Resident

"Commuting is easy. There are BART stations nearby as well as easy bus access."
- Lisa T.
- Resident

"The residential streets have a mix of single-family homes and apartment buildings, including a lot of really grand apartment buildings from the early 20th century. From here, it's a quick walk down to Lake Merritt for a run, and to the shops and restaurants on Grand and Lakeshore. This area has come up a lot in the last few years, and from here it's also an easy walk to Uptown, downtown, and Piedmont Ave. So there's plenty to do. "
- Laura H.
- Resident

"It's a lovely residential neighborhood near the lake. It's also near Grand Ave and Lakeshore Ave, which have great restaurants."
- Mo H.
- Resident
- 5y ago
"It's mostly houses and apartments and is undergoing a slow gentrification process. It's perched on a hill, so there are some lake views. There are no shops in Adams Point itself—you need to go down to the lake."
- Bob S.
- Resident
- 5y ago
"The sense of community is terrific. Lake Merritt is nearby, plus lots of great food. It's a great location. The dragon boat races on Lake Merritt are not to be missed—lots of colorful handmade canoes compete against each other."
- Bob S.
- Resident
- 5y ago
"The lake is safe to visit during the day, and Fairyland is a great kid-friendly place to visit. It's an amusement park for small children. Lots of puppet shows, interesting buildings to explore, and areas for kids to be kids."
- Lisa T.
- Resident
- 5y ago
"Oakland's public schools are spotty. Look into where your kid would be placed and find out how the school is. The park at Lake Merritt is lovely, but is also overrun with Canada geese, which poop prodigiously. I wouldn't let my toddler roam around here for that reason. But Children's Fairyland in the park is a real Bay Area treasure—it's a simple little amusement park for young kids, and they say that it inspired Walt Disney to create Disneyland!"
- Mo H.
- Resident

"No schools nearby. The last one was decommissioned. There is a Montessori."

"nice area, terrible parking. lots of restaurants, trendy, close to Bart, wish there were more families but oh well."
