1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAlthough Tara High school is nestled in a nice Suburbian neighborhood it is one of the worst schools I could have possibly sent my son to. Staff is either too lazy or overworked but I’d say the latter. Seems like staff does not like to do their work and gets annoyed when asked to do so. My son currently attends Tara high and I’ve have a few problems with the staff not doing their job. My son has also stated to me plenty of times that he isn’t challenged academically not to mention the school is so run down not sure how it’s still standing. Unfortunately, I was forced to send my child to this school because this is the only high school within the area I live. With that being said this past week a few issues have been brought to light that has ultimately made me make the decision to pull my son out & be homeschooled. This past week was the week of the national student walk out for gun control and out of all the schools across America that participated in the walk out Tara high didn’t allow students to exercise the right. The principal decides to pull the fire alarm at the same exact time the walk out was to occur. In her words she “didn’t want to deal with all the commotion” Word of advice if you can avoid it Do Not Send Your Child To This School by all means.Parent Review6y ago - Wedgewood Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI personally have seen nothing but kindness and willingness to help since my child has started attending Wedgewood. I wish there was more support for the teachers as I know this is an ESL learning sight. Everyone is doing their best to make it a great learning experience for ALL students, and I can appreciate that. The school has showed so much improvement academically. As far as I can tell as long as they continue in this direction they'll be one of the higher rated schools in EBR.Parent Review8mo ago

"To and from downtown during rush hour is a nightmare on I-12. I would say that most days the commute takes about 40 minutes on a good day and up to one hour on a bad day."

"Neighbor is ok lot of huge pot holes water sits in them. The kids really can’t play. You can damage your cars riding through this water and holes. Lot of strange people on the back side. Pretty quiet. If streets were fixed and kids can play.great some activities around here that shouldn’t be. I hope they move"

"Dogs lovers are Welcome! Very pet friendly neighborhood along with cats. We have a lake with ducks and geese so there are lots of animals and nature. There are more homes with dogs then there are without. If you are not an animal lover then this neighborhood probably not for you:)"
