7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is subpar at best. There are rats and cockroaches (and other disgusting bugs) within the locker room. The PE teachers do not care about the health of students; they make them lie on the filthy gym floor everyday, and they never clean them. Some of the teachers here are great, but the other teachers can be somewhat of a martinet, being very critical, making students cry. I see students in the cafeteria running around like monkeys, chasing each other and putting one another in garbage cans, with no consequences. The curriculum is not challenging, as for the whole school year I have spent less than 8 hours total on homework. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you have the means to move your child to another school, do. My daughter has always loved school. She started fighting in the mornings to stay home. When I observed her classroom, I understood why she did not want to go. The teacher yells at students and treats the Asian kids with a kindness not shown to other students. After putting my daughter in counseling, we moved her to another school where she is so happy. Office staff are friendly and ignore problematic issues as if to pretend they do not exist.Parent Review2y ago

"it's mostly a safe area, but there is a homeless presence in the neighborhood that tends to leave some mess on the sidewalks at times. it's a nice quiet neighborhood and dog friendly. sometimes people walk through the allies talking loudly which can be disruptive but that's my only complaint. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for a year and it's not the best. There's a lot of theft and because I live next to the park, there's hardly ever parking. I would not walk this neighborhood at night or alone. It is close to a lot of things which is a plus."

"Movie night at the park. Historic buildings and history of the neighborhood. Farmers Market under the freeway. "

"The neighborhood has really become more walkable with the restaurants (South & Coconut on T) and grocery store opening at 9th and R. Friendly neighborhood, lots of bikers, dog walking,"

"Lots of positivity, skate culture, music, family. It’s great for establishment. Everything his close, great area to network in. Great to come back home after traveling. Highly recommend for those of you looking for a little something of everything. Great food, most restaurants are locally sourced. "
