6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am the parent of 2 BHS graduates who were accepted into UNC and NC State, the 2 largest schools and both prestigious regionally and nationally. These schools accept < 20% of applicants. Their experience at a larger school on a block schedule similar to college courses readied them for college. They both took a variety of AP classes, and their friends in the IB program did well and were admitted to top-flight schools as well. Broughton is a real community, with families across the socio-economic spectrum, and recognizes students across all abilities with the prominent Caps on a Roll program. I found the teachers to be professional, engaging with parents, and supportive of students without hand-holding them.Parent Review1mo ago - Poe Elementary

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children are thriving with the small class sizes, and they know everyone in this tight-knit community. They look forward to exploring their interests every day — trying tap dancing, competing I. science Olympiad, reading classic mysteries, learning Spanish, or perfecting their clay sculpture techniques. My third grader is reading Peter Pan, which is a favorite of mine. My older two are benefitting from the terrific AIG teacher. She is excellent. School events are fun and engaging, whether it’s family bowling or doing experiments with the teachers.Parent Review1y ago - Moore Square Museum Magnet Mid

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has enjoyed his first year at Moore Square. The electives are absolutely amazing and he has enjoyed most of them. He is in special ed and the teachers have been very supportive. We've had generally good communication with teachers and the administration. Homework hasn't been too challenging but appropriate. Even with an early morning start, he looks forward to going to school, which is a strong endorsement.Parent Review11mo ago - Wake Early Coll Heal

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a terrible choice for parents and students looking for a supportive teachers. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. The courses offered are very restrictive as well.Student Review8y ago - Wake Nc State Univ Stem Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.Student Review4y ago - Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile we have had a few bumps getting our boy engaged, the leadership have been great partners with looking at options. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. We love that there are male teachers teaching our boy as they provide examples of strong role models. We love the uniforms!Parent Review2mo ago - Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll teachers are very attentive and helpful especially Principal Baker during this pandemic. We are very lucky to belong to a school who treats the children as their own.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 2308 Shannon St.

"I honestly wish they would’ve put 2 bus stops in the chastain subdivision. On marshlane and mackinac island. That would help with public transportation access. Otherwise it takes 20-30 minutes to travel anywhere in the city. "
