Socially, there's lots of activities available as one would expect with 2k+ student body and state-of-the-art facilities but bullying and drugs are disturbingly prevalent. Eminently walkable, with a huge variety of shops and restaurants a quick stroll away and a subway stop at its heart, the neighborhood invites you to leave your car in the garage you probably have and complete your errands on foot. Parks and recreational facilities, including a large lake with a public beach, are within the neighborhood’s bounds. "I’ve lived here in Newton Centre for almost 30 years and love the convenience of a city with the outdoor parks and recreation of the country.
