4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGrant High School was a life changing experience for me. This is a school with many opportunities, if you seek them. I was college ready, and a top student. I also was an athlete and found the programs to be amazing. While Grant is lacking in funding it makes up for it in spirit. Im sad to hear alot of the staff that were there when I attended are no longer working there, but that staff made the school as amazing as it is. I feel this school would have better ratings if more people knew to post reviews on this site. When there are only negative experiences being broadcasted and the people with positive experiences are not doing reviews, it doesn't create a cumulative review thats not based on bias. This school has the greatest potential, and the greatest stories to go along with it. I blame the city and the state for not putting more into the school considering its location. Despite the adversity, those who have strong pacer pride, work hard to give the school a better name.Other Review2y ago - Rio Tierra Junior High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is consistently being abused by his fellow class mates and he feels as though during some classes he is not safe. He has tried to tell authorities but they do nothing about it. The school has to take drastic measures to ensure the safety of students attending this school.Parent Review4y ago - Harmon Johnson Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school exist!! And it's one of the Best Schools I have seen!! I went to visit the school and it have a GREAT LEADERSHIP along with Staff and Parents. I'm sure it has GREAT Teachers I haven't met them yet. But with all the parent volunteer they have and everybody working together along with the kids. This is a AWESOME school. Like they say "Don't judge a book by it's cover" You need to personally go and talk to staff and you will see why they are one of the top 3 schools Nation Wide. They were even invited to Washington and received an Award. Just imagine they have a kitchen well organized but the stove doesn't work. So, they have to cook their food off site and then bring it back to school. Even with that they are doing a GREAT JOB!!! I feel this school is an Inspiration for other schools to follow. My school Hazel Strauch say they will try to take something from them. Not, sure what they will take but I hope they do. They have a Parent room that's AWESOME and parents who help out. I hope this is one thing my school gets from them because we don't even have a parent room. I think every Principal should take a field trip with their staff member to see this school.Parent Review10y ago - Noralto Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent I will have to say that the leadership in this school does not properly know how to deal with bullying. My energetic and social child who have never been in troubled was bullied and the principal punished my child by removing my child from the classroom. This has caused my child to question why she was removed, her grades has dropped, she was negatively affected and continued to not feel safe. My initial request was to have the bully removed from the classroom, but the principal stated that that was impossible…I removed my child from this school and the district entirely and she has been thriving since. The principal during the 17/18-18/19 school year should be removed from her position so that she could experience what my child went through.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 2225 Fernley Ave.

"I live in a small new housing development. Every place around is run down with garbage in the streets. Lots of criminal activity. Prostitution and drug dealing at the children’s park. Frequent police helicopter fly-overs reporting missing children or a suspected criminal in the area. Lots of homeless people who go through your garbage. "

"Old North Sacramento has a lot of character, it's not like anywhere else I have ever lived. It is a neighborhood in transition, so parts can be a bit scruffy, but I really liked my neighbors. People were real and not snobby; and there a lot of people who truly care about the neighborhood. Recently the Good Market opened off of Del Paso Blvd and there are many new art establishments, athletic gyms, and interesting restaurants including Enotria and The Green Boheme (raw/vegan dining). Del Paso Blvd also features a bunch of fun, interesting public art. From Old North Sacramento you can get to public transportation, Highway 160, Freeway I-80, the post office, hardware store, grocery store, thrift store, and library all within a few easy blocks."

"I do live here. It appears to look quiet and nice, but there is crime. It is unsafe to walk in the area from twilight on. There has even been daytime muggings. Lite rail is only a couple of blocks away, but that part of Del Paso is locked up tighter than a drum by 9:00pm. With dim street lights and closed businesses it becomes very unsafe. There are drug dealers and prostitutes with an active trade in the area. It is not a good environment for children."
