"I grew up in & bought my 1st house in Richmondtown, S.I. A lovely community to be sure. Sold that home 10 years ago & my husband & I bought a home in New Dorp Beach. I now understand why several generations of families still live here. We enjoy living on a quiet little block with the ability to walk to so many things. We can eat at Nini's Cafe or DiSara or just order a pizza: take the grandkids around the block for for ice cream or pick up some groceries or a newspaper at not 1, but 3 delis. Breakfast or lunch at the new Harvest Cafe, a drink after dinner at the new pub. We drop our cars off at the neighborhood garage & walk back when they're ready. Need something for your computer? We have it. Car service? We have that too. Bus service?...that too. Churches & schools...ditto. Get in your car & there is nothing you can't get to in just minutes. All sorts of shopping, supermarkets, a movie theater, dry cleaner, doctors & dentists, lawyers, banks, fast food... the list goes on & on. Transportation is also a snap from this neighborhood. Express & local buses, train are all nearby & it's a pretty short, straight run to the Verrazano Bridge. This is also a recreational paradise. You can go fishing, take the kids to several playgrounds, there is always something going on at Gateway park. You can ride bikes, roller blade, watch a soccer or baseball game, From Miller field you can access the boaedwalk & take it all the way to the bridge."
