6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is bright and successful, but this is not reflective of the school here in Sedalia. Coming from another district I see many alarming trends. It's dark, with few windows, and feels like a prison. There is ignored school violence where teachers look away, and the administration glossing over these issues. My child has seemed to have progressed slowly compared to elementary despite being in an accelerated learning. There are few teachers who push these kids to succeed, but the next class period there's another who just seems to want to get through the day. As a parent this is a frustrating thing to witness, these are still young children, (5th and 6th graders) and their first experience into a rotating instruction is one where only half of their teachers care about their success. I'd love to see these kids back into an elementary school setting. This model simply doesn't work for these kids and it's doing them and the teachers a disservice. Research suggests that kids this young, even up to 7th grade, do far worse in testing than those in a elementary style classroom. "This subdivision is a great subdivision! Everyone looks out for one another, located across the street from the Sedalia country club and outside the city limits of Sedalia(which means lower taxes). Hunter’s Ridge also has the advantage of Central Missouri Electric CoOp being the electric provider, which is cheaper than Evergy. I highly recommend it!"
