"The home values are finally rising due to the addition of a paint manufacturing plant currently under construction and a vocational school under construction next to it. Close by parks, schools, rec centers, grocery store, and shopping entertainment."

"Not so much unique but up and coming. The rent had gone up in the last three years and we are getting a mixture of people moving in. I do believe that it is because of our closeness to downtown and three major hospitals and some pretty good schools. "

"It a growing area and I have had my home here since 2016 and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. What else can I say I feel safe and I am very visible so people get to see who lives where. If I could change anything it would be to have a grocery store nearby. "

"In this area you are close to most things if you drive and of course there is public transportation. There is the hospital and clinic plus a good variety of places to eat. Soon we will have a grocery store and that is so need for our area. I will not be move I love my community "

"I live in East lake. It's an ok place to live. I've been here for 39 years. I have friends in avondale they say be in before dark Idk why but it seems to be a nice place to me."

  • Andreana M.
"I’ve lived in Avondale with my 3 children for over a year now. And the area where we are is very quiet and decent but some of our neighbors invite their people over who aren’t from this side of Avondale which they tend to play their loud music flying down our street. I’m currently looking to purchase a house now due to our community being deprived of no grocery stores nearby, not being able to take safe walks during the evening hours and so forth."

"I think it’s important for parents to know that there is limited grocery stores in the area and that the area is deprived of a lot. Not being originally from Chattanooga but living here for a few years have showed me that this city has a lot of growing and revitalization that needs to be done. Many of the children are deprived of having a neighborhood park for family/friendly outings or a safe haven to go to when in times of need. The Avondale area of Chattanooga needs more than what the government is willing to provide."
