Once in a great while a home comes along that completely knocks your socks off...I'm talking about the heavy, wooly socks we wear in the deep of winter here in Michigan. A home that feels like a sweet summer sunset on a picturesque day in July...not humid at all. If they wrote a Chicken Soup for the Soul homeowner edition this home would sell a million copies. That home, ladies & gentlemen, has come along and it goes by the name 17725 Parke Lane! This stunning, masterpiece is apropos to the 2003 hit "Stacy's Mom"- it's got it going on. Constructed with great care to charm and aesthetic. Gorgeous natural light pours in on the expansive, open floor plan. Movie night just went to blockbuster proportions with your first floor cozy screening room. Whipping up that perfect soufflé? Enjoy doing so in the bustling hub of culinary activity we know as the kitchen. Adorned with plenty of sleek countertops, fresh new appliances and cabinet space. First floor laundry? You betcha. The primary bedroom is a suite and it is also sweet. Open concept primary bath features a large jacuzzi tub as well as walk-in shower and a grande walk-in closet. The views of the water from here are like Jordan, game 6...they simply can't be beat. Rounding out the 2nd level are two more large bedrooms and a full bath. Head up one more flight and be prepared for a treat. I could see this space being utilized as 4th bedroom, loft or study...but one thing is certain...it showcases a view up and down the river that would inspire the most temperamental landscape painter. Large bonus room above the garage has been a gym area, rec room and used for just plain old storage. Jay Leno would surely give a nod to the 3+ car attached garage. Through there you can access the basement area where the mechanicals reside and storage is plentiful. The curb appeal is remarkable. Near one acre of land and all the room to entertain. Boating season is upon us...we got you covered with docks and seawall here! One thing left to do though...schedule your showing today!!!

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis district completely failed the students during the lockdown. The former superintendent defaulted to the easiest choices and forced an entire community into lockdown. I moved my student to another middle school not locked down and they performed much better. Since they have reopened GI schools, I will not return as I feel my student is learning at a faster pace than what was being covered in GI. The board is toxic and has poisoned the district with their hiring / firing choices. Until a completely new board is elected, there will be no meaningful change and GI students will fall farther behind their peers in MI and in other states. They are lucky the kids test well on standardized tests. The MS Spanish classes were a joke and should not have counted towards high school credit. Michigan Virtual has a much more rigorous curriculum in all subjects.Parent Review1y ago - Grosse Ile High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMeridian is a complete disappointment. The administration's priorities are completely misplaced, as they seem more concerned with maintaining appearances than actually providing a quality education for their students. The school is losing families left and right to private schools and nearby districts, and it's no wonder why. The lack of support and attention given to students is appalling, and it's clear that the administrators are more focused on their own agendas than the well-being of the children in their care. Instead of investing in quality teachers and resources that would benefit the students, the administration seems intent on cutting corners and saving money at the expense of the children's education. There are several instances of long term subs taking the place of classroom teachers and teachers are frequently taking on more students due to split classes because the district cannot obtain subs. Overall, I would not recommend Meridian Elementary School to any parent looking for a quality education for their child. The lack of support, focus, and care for the students is unacceptable, and I would urge families to look elsewhere for a school that truly values the well-being and education of all its students.Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 17725 Parke Ln.

"We have been on the island since 2011, and have fallen in love with the area. It is not uncommon for us to see deer wandering through our property, and the public schools here are excellent! Our home is also on the bicycle trail, and is only 2 blocks from the sledding hill (both of which our kids love). The property is ~ 1/3 of an acre; giving our dogs plenty of room to run. We have gardens on the property, which have produced significant amounts of pesticide free, organic, food for us and our children. We have upgraded the hot water heater, and have reinsulated the entire attic, as well as the exterior walls. We all wish we didn't have to move, but I "

"Excellent schools and the safest place in Michigan. Water, trees wildlife all around. Township provides: Many miles of bike trails, a farm/community center, golf course, 600 plus acres of greenspace with trails, airport, marina, sledding hill, soccer fields, kayak launch, lots of woods/wildife. Two private golf clubs and three private boat clubs, a tennis club, alpaca farm, Azalia farm/nursery. Water/boats everyhwere. This is a great, close-knit island community. The fire and police forces are top notch. Traffic is calm and slow. You just cannot beat this place for families and retirees. "

"You will not find a better place to live for families and retirees. Note: I did nto say a better place to live in Michigan - you will be hard pressed to find a better place to live period. It is like living at summer camp all year. Water everywhere. Lots of open space - woods and wildlife, virtually no crime, phenomenal schools fabulous housing options, reasonable/rational law enforcement, code enforcement and the like (not crazy or anal like some places). The place is kind of lie a throwback to the 1950s. Downsides: Price is high, access to freeway takes 15 minutes, no real nightlife or shopping on the island (other than groceries); no diversity. Kids come out of the schools well educated, but often very naive. "
