Being near a hospital and several Addison critical service emergency facilities, the local electric grid remained a high priority and was spared the wrath of the widespread and protracted power outages experienced across the state during the intense winter storm of February 2021. The power remained on.

"To and from work or school is my normal commute. I walk to the gym, grocery store, and community activities that the park ( Vitruvian park) host. I drive to get gas as well which is just about a half a mile away. There is normally something to do every 2 weeks if not sooner for people of all ages. Most events are family friendly. So overall I would say my commutes are short and sweet when traffic isn’t so bad on I35 or I635 North and east."
