4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere do I being, well when I first started I was excited to start a new career. But as soon as I saw the red flags I should have gotten out sooner. One of the many red flags was that there was absolutely no training. I was expected to have goals and expectations that were very unrealistic. Administration treats their teachers horribly. I was told that if I left then I would be labeled as a weak person, sorry administration was wrong about that. You can't label me as weak. Good luck trying to find a teacher who can perform to the schools expectations. I do not recommend anyone to work at this school.Teacher Review5mo ago - D F Walker Elementary

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school makes accommodations for my child who has some learning difficulties. They always contact me regarding any issues and try their best to review the behavior and correct it. Such a good school and the staff are very welcoming.Parent Review2y ago - John A Holmes High

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJohn A. Holmes has a great program called ACE Time which provides a flexible time during the school day for students to get tutoring/extra help, attend clubs or participate in extracurricular activities, and for teachers to attend faculty/department meetings. Some great things occur during this time as special bonds between staff and students can be made during this time.Teacher Review9y ago - White Oak Elementary

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhat a privilege it is to work at this family oriented school. We are not only employees together, we are friends with each other. The school works hard with the relationships we build with family and community members. Children who pass through the halls of White Oak are given a fantastic experience and chance of a life-time to grow with super roots.Teacher Review9y ago - Check out schools near 1605 Yuman Trail.

"Edenton is a small town. It sits on the water which makes for a great setting. The town itself was incorporated in 1712, making it 300 years old this year, and much of that is reflected in the town's architecture. Walking through town is like walking through history. You have a number of structures dating back to the 1700's most of them in use today even as homes, and a large amount of homes that go back to the 1800's and early 1900's. The people here take pride in their town and do what they can to ensure that the character inherent in many of their buildings are well preserved. Many who live here were born and raised in the area, but there are also those, me included, who discovered this town and its charms and made it their home. Our influence has been primarily come in taking older homes in need of TLC and restoring them to their former glory. What you therefore see are wonderful homes, from the modest to the impressive, that line many of the streets in town, making this a wonderful place to live for families, young couples starting out and retirees as well. The amenities here are understandably limited. It is a character and a lifestyle that people seek here--historic, pretty (one of the prettiest small towns in the US, by Forbes' estimation), quiet, peaceful and friendly, and yet characterized by a well-educated citizenry that really cares about the town. You have everything you need here for your everyday living. What is lacking is what you might want for your weekend living. This is not a hopping town, and even neighboring towns don't have much in the way of nightlife going for them. Singles looking for social outlets might therefore be challenged, as will gourmands looking for more than good old home cooking they might find in our local diners. For anyone else looking for a lovely place to live and truly get to know their neighbors, you'd be hard pressed to find anyplace better than Edenton."
