What Locals Say about Downtown

  • Trulia User
" Old Town is simply unique and it's name says it all. Old Town happens to be the oldest part of Albuquerque, and to most including me and my husband the most beautiful. it's old but it's beauty comes from it's age. Anyone seeing it for the first time I know would say the same. The smell the feel the look it's the place me and my husband grew up in shared our first kiss together as teenagers and still to this day and for as long as we can will continue on living here. "

"I would prefer living in a less busy area. honestly there is more crime in this area. It is easy to jump in the car for a quick trip to the store, banks, or something to eat. ordering in is usually quicker too since so many places are close by. "

"This is a super walkable area with easy access to parks, Old Town, stores, restaurants etc. I used to walk mine and friend's dogs all over. Generally it's quiet. Because of the 7/11 on the corner of Lomas and 12th, there can be food traffic and sometimes the occasional drunk, but in 15 years of leaving my office on Lomas late at night, I never had a problem. The trees in this neighborhood provide welcome shade in the summer, so take good care of them Albuquerque. "

"This downtown core neighborhood on the National Historic register and located midway between Downtown and Historic Old Town offers direct access to public transit, all major museums, theater venues, shopping and great restaurants and bars, and local craft beer brew pups One of the only truly walkable and bikeable neighborhoods in the city. Access to all of the venues mentioned above is available to pedestrian and bicycle options, all within less than .5 miles."

"This neighborhood between downtown and Old Town ABQ is fully up and coming. It is historic, well kept and friendly with a mature tree canopy and nearby walkable, bike able and transitable amenities that include shopping, schools, parks and tourist attractions such as the Bio Park and Old Town.
