2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was quite hesitant to enroll my child in school at Chester Shell Elementary. I will give both the negatives and positives in this review to be fair. Her first week was a huge shock! The Negatives: The class size was not 13 students to 1 teacher as it states on this page; it was 23 : 1. It is now in fact 25 to 1. By the first week she was seriously bullied on the bus and told by the bully he was going to get a gun and shoot her pet. This occurred just after the school shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. I called the school immediately. The administration was swift to step in, address the bully and parents, and promised the bully would no longer be on the bus. The next morning, the bully was on the bus. The bully apologized, yet the bully rides every morning. Now for the Positives: My child loves her teacher, the administration, and adores her fellow students. She is engaged, challenged, and thriving academically.
