5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school!!! Administration is awesome! Dr. Haddock and Dr. Blanton know how to lead by example!!! They both genuinely care about students’ well being and stand up for their teachers!!! The students have lots of leadership opportunities in the upper grades and lots of extra curricular activities (Art club, Chorus, Beta, etc.). We even had a parade for our students during COVID-19. (It was of course socially distanced!!)Teacher Review3y ago - Sequoyah Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly, I am currently a junior and I just want to explain why this school is not the right place for students who are looking to prepare for future colleges and jobs. The administrators and teachers do not take effective action, as evidenced by the two fights that occurred today on Feb 7, 2024. This is completely unacceptable and disheartening for me as a student at this school.Take a school like Parkview High School in Gwinnett as an example. They are known for being strict, responsible, and focused on helping students succeed in entering college or future jobs. In contrast, the AP teachers at Cross Keys do not offer re-tests. I am currently taking AP Psychology and have struggled with failing multiple tests with no support or opportunity for improvement. One of my friends from Parkview shared that she was able to improve her scores through review and comprehension, resulting in a 4.0 GPA compared to my 3.6 GPA.The IEPs are somewhat adequate, but I have noticed that when they state "Our goal is for the student to succeed," it feels more like an empty promise. There is a lack of actual support or assistance provided. Instead of actively helping me, I am often given worksheets from basic subjects like Algebra I and reading. It makes me question the seriousness of the support being offered.Cross Keys needs to prioritize student performance and offer re-tests to support student success. Additionally, they should consider adding honors classes to benefit students’ GPAs. With only 13 AP classes available, students like myself are left to struggle with exams like AP Physics and AP Chemistry without adequate preparation. I hope that Dr. Cunningham takes notice of these concerns, as the current school system is simply not working.Student Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 1345 Harris Way.
