"It is rural. Lots of wildlife. You need a car or should be comfortable with online shopping. It is quiet and clean. I would keep wood, water, a generator and firearm for an emergency. Living in the. hills it is very unlikely that you're going to see your neighbors for weeks or even months. "

"Used to be a nice neighborhood, but recent drive-by shootings and heroin busts have turned this area of Stroudsburg into a hell-hole for residents. No police patrol, and traffic is horrendous with twenty-thirty minute delays common just to get into the downtown area. Low-property values have brought a lot of crime into the neighborhoods, and no sidewalks combined with high traffic makes walking dangerous. There's no shops or stores save for a Sunoco to visit, and the only local establishment is a pricey Thai place, and a down-trodden bar. The school systems are in shambles, there's very little local shopping besides the common big name stores (15+ minutes away) and being a college town, be prepared for loud parties, frequent busts, and drunken vandalism. Not a child-friendly area that's for sure. "
